Jay POV

"When will he come?" I asked my mom again.

"He will in a moment, Jay. Stop jumping around the cushions and sit down. You know he doesn't like that when you do this kind of stuff." My mom said helping me down the couch.

"But its my birthday, aren't I allowed to do what I want." I whined at her.

She laughed.

"Of course you can. Aren't you gonna call Meghan? You said you wanted her to join us."

I nodded and made way to the kitchen.

That's when the screams started.

"Where is she?" I asked as Maanav helped me off the bed.

"Swecha? She went home. She has internals in a week, Jay. I told her to go home and prepare. She barely even made it to the college these days."

"Internals?"

"She is first year, remember?"

I shrugged.

"Did the doctor really said it was okay to leave the hospital this early. I mean its just been two days, Maanav. I am bandaged too tight and to the brim for it to be the case."

"Money can do anything bro. And its easier to take care of you from home for me. The doctor said he would visit you everyday for the next one week and at the rate you are healing and considering your riley day syndrome he said you should heal fast enough."

"Nice."

"What?" He said looking at me with a raised eyebrow.

"What?" I asked back.

"The way you said 'nice was weird. Weird AF"

"Glad you find that amusing"

"I don't actually"

"Nice"

.

"You had weird dream again." Maanav asked as I made myself comfortable in my bed.

I nodded. I told him about my dream.

"Maybe its your memories jumping put. Or maybe you are finally going crazy. Do you remember anything beyond that fire from that night or maybe anything before that day?"

"I don't actually. Does it matter?"

He shrugged.

"I don't think so. Does it?"

"My parents are dead either way, Maanav. What should I do remembering about that day?"

"Your mom is dead, Jay. Just your mom. We don't know anything about your father."

"I don't have any memories of him either way. I can see my mom sometimes in flashes of memories but I got nothing on him. I think he was there to begin with, you know."

He nodded with a slight frown.

"Maybe. Anyway, it doesn't matter now. Get some rest, you need it now."
