Part 9: The Date

(AN: It's weird that the date chapter landed on Part 9 for both books. Whatever enough of me, and on with The Chapter!)

YN's POV
It's been two weeks since me, Ruby, and Maple hung out with my dad. We've had to be training ever since. I could tell Ruby was frustrated with her progress in hand to hand combat so I decided we could probably use a break. The last time we went on a date and just had time to ourselves was back during second semester. Back when things were simple. I sighed at the memories and went to find Ruby. She was helping Ren cook and though it was endearing, she wasn't very good at it. Of course I'd never tell her this because I'm her boyfriend and the couch isn't very comfortable "Hey Ruby?" I called to her

"Oh! Hey YN" she smiled at me

"Can I talk to you for a second?" I asked

She nodded "Can you take over for me please?" Ruby asked Ren

Ren gave a small nod but from the look on his face I could tell he was relieved that Ruby wouldn't burn anything this time "What's up YN?" Ruby asked walking up to me

"I was wondering if you wanted to go on a date tomorrow? It's been a while since we did" I said

Ruby blushed smiling "I'd love to YN but we still have to train more"

I sighed with a smile "I know Ruby but you've been working yourself to hard lately. I understand you want to get better at fighting with your hands but your gonna burn yourself out soon" I explain

She nodded as a smile grew on her face "Alright we'll go tomorrow" She giggles happily and kissed my cheek

I blushed smiling as we went our separate ways.

Timeskip
I was standing outside the house on my scroll in some casual clothes. I heard the door open and a familiar giggle. I turned to see Ruby in a red hoodie with a black rose on the back and a blue shirt underneath. She also had a pair of shorts and blue boots on"You look cute Ruby. I see my hoodie obsession rubbed off on you" I smiled as she put her hands in her hoodie pockets

"What? They're comfortable" She giggles and grabbed my hand

I smiled and interlocked our fingers as we started walking "Soooo, any plans for today?" She asked

"Not really. There are two places I want to stop by though and you should like them" I smiled

She giggles and pouts playfully "You're not gonna tell me what they are until we get there are you?"

I kissed her nose "Nope"

She giggles and bumped my shoulder as we continued to walk. We wandered around Mystral for a while until coming to the first destination I wanted to come to. Ruby Inhales excitedly as she saw the building. I found a cookie store while we were walking with my dad but I made sure Ruby didn't notice it at the time. It was a necessary evil for making her happy later. She quickly started pulling me towards the building while repeatedly saying "Yes!"

I laughed and followed her in as we looked around. There was a staggering amount of different cookies that I hadn't even heard of. Ruby started excitedly dashing around the room with her Semblance looking at the different kinds of cookies with wide hungry eyes. "I'm buying so get whatever you want" I smiled at her

She smiled at me and gave me a kiss before dashing to another display of cookies "Is she okay?" A random woman asked that was watching us

"Yeah she's just excited" I smiled

"YN they have Gingerbread here! It's not ever December! I love it!" She shouted from across the store before realizing people were looking and she became much more shy about it
