Part 2: The Journey to Haven

YN's POV
Ruby woke up with a sharp gasp and sat up which woke me up since she was sleeping with my arms wrapped around her "What is it Rubes?" I mumbled tiredly into her stomach with my arms around her waist.

She rubbed my head "Nothing... It's fine" She laid back down on her side

I turned on my side to face her. "You can tell me if something's wrong?" I smiled tiredly at her

She rubbed my head more "I know" She kissed my cheek "I'll tell you if something's wrong" She said and nuzzled into my neck

"Ok" I smiled and wrapped my arms around her again as we both fell back to sleep

We were back on the same incredibly long road as Ruby reads the map. "Sooo the next village is... Uh huh...Uh huh"

"We're lost aren't we?" I rested my head on Ruby's shoulder

"No!" She looked back at the map determined

She turned to me "...Yes" She mumbled

"Guys we're not lost. The next town is Shion. My family used to visit it all the time" Jaune said

"Oh yeah don't you have like four sisters?" Maple asked

"Uhhh... Seven" Jaune said causing Ruby and Maple to giggle

"You know that actually explains a lot" Nora said

Jaune didn't seem to catch what Nora said till a couple seconds later "Wait what's that supposed to-" Jaune was cut off by Ruby

"Sooo, what did you guys do there?" She asked trying to defuse the argument that was about to start

"Oh! all sorts of stuff" Jaune said and walked closer to us and took one side of the map "Over here is a great hiking trail, and over here is where we went camping all the time. I got my own tent because I was special" Jaune said happily "And so my sister's would stop braiding my hair" he mumbled

"Aww! little Jaune with braids in his hair that's adorable" I teased

"Hey!" Jaune said and Ruby and Maple giggled

"So, didn't like the look?" Ruby asked jokingly

"Yeah, they kept doing pigtails but I'm more of a 'warrior's wolf tail' sort of guy" He ran his hand through his hair

Me and Ruby looked at him "That's just a ponytail" Ruby said as I giggled

"I stand by what I said" Jaune said proudly

I held some of the hair on the back of Jaune's head to make a small makeshift pony tail. I looked at it for a bit "...Yeah I don't see it. You would look better with pig tails" I joked and stood beside Ruby again as she snickered.

Jaune rolled his eyes as we all went back to looking at the map and Ren, Nora, and Maple gasped "Guys?" Nora said

"What?" we said and looked up from the map to see the ashy destroyed remains of what we can assume used to be Shion

We dropped the map and ran into the town looking around "There might be survivors" Ruby said

"Over here" Ren yelled and ran over to somebody who was slumped against some rubble

We all ran up to him "A huntsman" Ruby said

"What happened? Who killed all these people?!" Jaune asked

He coughed a little blood "Bandits" He grunted trying to speak as best he could "The whole tribe... Then with all the panic" He coughed again

"Grimm" Maple said pointing to scratch marks on one of the buildings that likely came from an Ursa
