Blissful Ignorance

The loneliest man met the happiest girl,
Telling her being lonely made him sad.
The happiest girl said to be my friend,
Which made the loneliest man, glad.

A dynamic duo,
His skill, her cunning.
Could surpass any foe,
Sending them running.
~
The loneliest man became the happiest man,
But warned the girl that happiness does not last forever,
For the people who care most leave as soon as they can,
Carried far away in the wind, a feather.
~
The happiest girl rebutted that you are but my friend,
For I shall stick with you until the end.
Making you happy would make me happy,
Don't you see, it comes at no fee,
For you have me, so why are you lonely?
~
Despite her ventures the loneliest man said no more,
Because the happiness he gained, wouldn't outweigh the pain he could endure.
Without so much as a goodbye,
He disappears at a moment's time.
~
The happiest girl was saddened,
For her promises she could not tend,
Wishing the best for the loneliest man,
Knowing she only did the best she can.
~
The happiest girl became the loneliest girl,
Her head in a whirl,
Realizing her happiness,
Only did exist, because she knew not of sadness.
~
If destined to part,
then why even start?
Can you regret,
what you know not yet?
~
For all along she,
was just as lonely as he.
