she introduced,
as selves do.
He offered her a sheepish smile
fueled by vending machines
and the promise of Saturday.
"Pleased to meet you, Chloe."
"I'm new," she said.
He paused, screwed up his eyes
as though recalibrating,
then smiled again.
"Pleased to meet you, Nu."
