Connor POV
senior year... finally over. Now it's just me, Evan, Jared, Jeremy and Michael going to the same college...
Michaels parents are out for the week, so we are crashing there for a bit, he's next to Jer who's next to me and on my other side is Jared then Evan
"finally over" I sighed sitting on the grass next to the deck
"yeah, then we will be out of here and you will need our protection because were gonna be cool in college" Michael said grinning
"as if i'll ever be not cool" Jared said sitting on the grass with me as I put my arm around him and he leaned his head on my chest
"uncool" Evan corrected putting his head on Jared's lap
"I dunno Michael, I can't really see you being cool to anyone apart from me" Jeremy snickered
"shut up" Michael laughed taking the joint out of his mouth and kissing Jeremy on the cheek
we sat in contented science for a minute or two before Jared spoke up
"what now? we have five months until college, and yeah we have jobs but like, after the whole squip thing I guess were kinda used to crazy things happening to keep us busy.." Jared trailed off
"well, I suppose we just... let time slow down for a bit, you know, enjoy every relaxed moment. stop trying to make it through day to day and just... I can't believe I'm saying this but, be more chill" Jeremy said pulling Michael closer to him
I looked up at the two, they have been through so much together... I'm just really... happy for them
"what are you smiling for Murphy" Jeremy asked smiling back at me
"I'm just happy you losers are happy" I said looking down at Ev and Jared
"whatever hot topic" Jared giggled nuzzling into my hoodie
the soft sun hit our faces as we looked ahead... together
