No More (Rewritten Version of Fly Again)

Start from the beginning

‘Say something else, I dare you’ Minho thought, looking at Taemin’s parents from a distance.

“He was so happy; I gave him everything he asked for. We did everything to make him happy.” This time, it was Mr. Lee. Minho couldn’t continue listening.

‘Bullshit’

“You fucking liar,” Minho said sternly, it was loud enough for the people in the room to hear. An old lady that was next to him, looked at Minho angrily.

Taemin’s parents looked up, acting offended, but once they say him, their eyes darkened.

“Excuse me?” Mrs. Lee asked, voice quivering.

“It’s thanks to you that Taemin ended up like this!” Minho yelled. Haneul’s eyes doubled their size, the little girl was confused.

“You have no right to come at the funeral of my son and insult us like that!” Mr. Lee roared.

“Oh? So now Taemin is your son? So he wasn’t your son when he was with me, huh?!” Minho asked. The Lee’s family was now looking at Mr. and Mrs. Lee questioningly.

“Don’t you dare-”

“Taemin wasn’t your son when he said he was gay, huh?! You made his life impossible!” Minho’s eyes started to sting with tears, but he continued. He needed to get this out of his chest.

“Minho!” Kibum yelled. He grabbed his arm, urging him to shut up. Jonghyun entered, despite the people asking him to get out, and took Haneul with him. She was going to cry. “Minho, stop this.” Kibum warned.

“My son wasn’t of that kind! You changed my son for the worst!” Mr. Lee shouted, losing all composure and his act of the great father.

“You killed my boyfriend! This is your fault, son of a bitch!” Now his tears fell freely, the people around him listening to every single word.

“You took away his dream, you talked down about him, and you insulted him. You made his life hell! No matter what I did, what we did, it wasn’t enough because the devils here were his parents! I couldn’t save them from you! Now he’s dead, my Taemin is dead because of you! Rot in hell, both of you!”

“MINHO, THAT’S ENOUGH!” Kibum pulled his arm and dragged him out of the room and to the parking lot. Everyone was murmuring about what happened. Taemin’s parents were left speechless, and the Lee family was silent.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?! We are in a funeral, for god’s sake, Minho!” Kibum yelled. Minho turned around harshly, grabbing him by the collar and pressing him against a car.

“We’re at a funeral because of them! Can’t you see?!” Minho realized what he was doing and let go of him. He punched the car window, breaking it, and then sat down on the floor.

“Minho, i-it’s okay.” Kibum knelt down and tried to calm him down, but it was useless. Minho was angry, he was sad.

“No, it’s not okay, Key,” Minho mumbled. He was drained; he doesn’t have any more energy. He just wants the pain to stop. “Taemin isn’t here… It’s not okay...”

---

His eyes shot open, his vision was a blur and he could only see white. After blinking a few times, it was clearer where he was.

A hospital room. He looked up and saw him, attached to many beeping machines and with an oxygen mask on. He was holding his hand.

Minho kept staring, until a nurse walked in to change the meds. Minho took this opportunity.

“W-what happened?” His voice was hoarse, but he ignored it. The nurse smiled. “When you fell asleep? Nothing at all, why do you ask?”

“Uh…” Minho looked at the person lying in the bed, he was sleeping. But he could also be dead, or…

“He will wake up soon, don’t worry.” She assured him and walked out of the room again.

Was this a dream?

He felt the hold in his hand tightening. The person was starting to wake up.

“M-minnie?”

He opened his eyes and looked up, blinked a few times, and then looked at Minho.

“Oh my god, Minnie… You are awake!” Minho stood up and hugged his still alive boyfriend.

“You scared me, gosh. Don’t do that again, please baby. Don’t leave me again.” Minho was rambling, but it was because of the scare he just got.

Taemin started crying.  It wasn’t supposed to be like that. “I d-don’t want to be here anymore.” Taemin whimpered. Minho let go of him and looked at his eyes.

“Tell me,” Minho whispered. “Why? Why you did this?”

Taemin looked away, “I failed, again. I don’t want to keep failing my parents. I don’t want to be in this hell anymore. Why did they save me?” Minho wiped away his tears, but the boy couldn’t stop crying.

“No, no, listen,” Minho hushed him. “Let’s go away, yes?”

“W-what?”

“Let’s go away. I know it sounds crazy, b-but let’s do it. Let’s move out to a pretty country, learn a new language, and buy a house. A-ah, let’s get married and move away from your parents.” Minho was being serious. The words leaving his mouth sound crazy, but he means it.

“You are eighteen now, we can take Haneul with us. Jonghyun, Kibum and Jinki can come and visit. Let’s go away hmm?” Minho was pleading him. Taemin doesn’t know if it’s the sedatives, or Minho, but he’s feeling dizzy.

“We will be happy, we will be free. Just like we always promised it. It’s just that this time it’s not just a promise; I want to make it real. Let’s be free, like how we used to. Please Taemin ah.”

Taemin looked at him and smiled. “M-minho…”

Minho smiled back, he missed Taemin’s smile. “Yes?”

“Thank you.”

Minho’s grip on his hand became stronger. “What for?”

“For saving me.”
