“Taemin? Where are you, what's wrong?”
“Pick me up, please?” I can't take it anymore...
“Of course... Where are you hmm?” Taemin could hear Minho turning on the engine*.
“In front of the bakery near my house.” I'm in hell.
“Okay, wait for me. Are you okay?” Taemin tensed at the question.
“...”
Minho knew what was wrong, he always knows. “Wait for me Tae.”
-
That day, Taemin changed.
“Minnie, calm down.”
“No, I can't calm down Minho. I'm sick and tired of them! I'm sick of hearing them!” The ex-dancer was hysteric. He was utterly mad.
“I know, but–” Minho tried to reassure him that everything would be fine, that he just has to wait, but Taemin had already started crying.
“No, no! I don't want to do this anymore! I don't want to; it's better to be dead that this! Anything but this!”
Taemin turned around, trying to walk out of Minho's room. But the he didn't let him, “no, wait–” Minho held his arm and turned him around hastily, revealing Taemin's tear stained face. It was heart breaking. “Yes you can, I will be there. Don't ever say that.”
Hearing it from him made him break down, Minho instantly hugging him. “You will get out of this, I promise. We will be happy.”
Taemin, despite the painful cries, nodded. But he already made up his mind. He couldn't continue with this. He was tired, exhausted. Nothing was right, everything was wrong. He couldn't live like this. Pleasing others, giving up his happiness for others... He couldn't.
But this time, they didn't notice. Taemin already knew how to reply to questions regarding his family; he knew how to smile a ‘real’ smile. He knew how to convince everyone, even Minho, that he was okay.
And the day finally arrived...
---
“Hyung, let's go to the movies. It's Tae's birthday and I wanted make him a surprise.” Minho spoke happily.
“Sure! I will pick Kibum up, let's meet at Taemin's house, yes?” Jonghyun agreed happily.
“Okay.”
An hour later, Minho went to Taemin's house to pick him up. When he knocked the door, Taemin's mother was the one to answer.
“Where is Taemin?” Minho asked politely. He doesn't want to upset Taemin's mother in his birthday.
“He should be upstairs. Go.” The woman answered uninterested, something that made Minho a little annoyed. It was her son's birthday, for god's sake.
Without saying anything else, Minho walked upstairs to Taemin's bedroom. He knocked slightly, in case his boyfriend was sleeping. But no one answered. Minho opened the door, and Taemin wasn't in the room.
“Tae..?” Minho called, but the room was silent. He walked in the room and saw the bathroom's door slightly opened. Minho slowly opened the door, until it was fully opened, “Tae–”
Oh my god...
“Taemin!”
The boy was laying, unconscious, in the bathtub. Soaked wet, in a pool colored in red.
