           "Everybody shut UP."

Zack and I looked from our little game of 'Apple on the Stick', and giggling, turned to face the front, where Zack's 15-year-old brother, Reece, had just told everyone to shut up, and he glared at us - not for not paying attention to the fake wedding in motion, but for forcing him to come here and act as a priest. In a monotonous voice and a bored expression on his face that implied that he would rather be anywhere but here, he said, "Please stand for the arrival of the, um, chick in the white dress."

Zack and I grinned at each other, and stood. I stood up straighter and smoothed down my pink, floral dress. After a short pause, I reached over to Zack's black and white makeshift of a suit and straightened his tie. He grinned at me. "Hey, wanna play-"

The music started and I swiftly placed my finger over his lips and hastily told him to shush. My eyes dreamily flew over to the end of the hallway, where Zack's 19-year-old sister, Emma stood, smiling brightly. She was wearing a white sundress, a bunch of daises in her hand as a substitute bouquet. She looked so perfect. Zack shot me a confused look, and tried to talk to me again but I stomped on his foot to keep him from talking.

Zack glared at me, but nonetheless, his gaze drifted over to where I was looking, and his jaw dropped down right to the floor. His eyes widened as Emma skipped down the hallway, grinning at us as she walked past. "That's... that's my sister." Zack whispered, nudging me with his elbow.

"I know, I'm not blind." I whispered sarcastically, nudging him right back. Usually we would have a 'nudge war' afterwards, but I guess we were both too occupied watching Emma and her boyfriend up at the makeshift altar with Reece behind them, yawning.

I let my eyes wander around, and I caught sight of my parents and Zack's parents behind us, smiling at Emma, Troy and Reece. They had agreed to come and watch Emma's and Troy's 'fake wedding' that Zack and I had begged and begged to happen.

We all fell silent as Reece cleared as throat after yawning one last time. Zack took my hand to stop me from jittering and bouncing nervously, which he apparently found 'very distracting'.

"We are gathered here today to witness the marriage of Troy Colton and Emma Calvert," he recited monotonously off the paper we had written for him. Emma and Troy didn't seem to mind- they just seemed to stare into each other's eyes, smiling at each other. I hoped that one day, I'd have someone look at me like how Troy stared at Emma, like how Zack stared at donuts.

"If anyone present here today has any objection to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." A short silence followed as no one dared to speak. I knew 100 percent that this wedding was fake, but I still couldn't help but feel relieved that none of our mums, teddy bears, and Totally Spies dolls spoke up. Yes, I was 8, but I was still living in fantasy.

Reece sighed, looking up at the ceiling for a bit as if asking it for a way of escape. With a roll of his eyes, he muttered, "Can we have the rings now, please?"

That was Zack's cue. He hurried out of his seat beside me and jogged up to the altar. He dug into his pockets and retrieved the two "rings" which were just red Haribo friendship rings. He handed them to Emma and Troy, and despite it being food, they stared at it as if they were shining diamonds.
