Flare

I held my head high as I entered the Institute gates. After spending two days in the palace, I'm back for good. Napangisi na lang ako sa kaloob-looban ko kung paano yumuko ang mga kawal nang sila'y madaanan ko.

Habang naglalakad sa ako isang espasyo'y napatingin ako sa mga estudyanteng nageensayo sa training grounds. Napatigil ang mga ito't napalingon sa akin bago tarantang iniyukod ang ulo nila. Kahit ang mga estudyanteng nadadaanan ko'y umaatras upang bigyan ako ng daan.

Wala akong naririnig na kahit ano mang ingay o bulungan. Their mouths may not be speaking any words, but their minds is occupied with me. Too bad, I can hear their thoughts even if I'm not looking in their eyes. Siguro'y mahina ang ispiritwal at mental na lakas ng mga ito para hayaang nakabukas masyado ang isip nila.

To think that I bad mouthed her, damn it! Sana hindi niya ako natandaan.

Kaya pala tindig niya pa lang noon maawtoridad na, may charisma, at hindi basta-basta.

Remind me not to get on her bad side.

Savanah must feel really regretful. I remembered her saying her mother was a bitch.

I literally rolled my eyes. Of course she should feel regretful. If my mother was really the queen, then she's asking for her own death. I wondered how she'll react if her words reached the palace?

"Hey," Napalinga ako't napataas ang kilay ko nang makilala kung sino ang lalaking nakikisabay sa akin sa paglalakad. "How's the princess?" I shook my head.

"I heard you became the regent when I'm not here. Did you manage my stuffs well?" He smirked. He still has his messy hair covering his right eye, and his usual body gestures.

"I managed it better than you do." he said as he gave me a wink. Narinig ko ang impit na pagtili ng mga kababaihan na nakakita sa ginawa niya.

"And, I heard you are the Fire Tribe's long lost princess?" Hindi ako umimik. They may recognize me as their princess, but well, I don't know.

"So?"

"Maybe you should start acting like one?" he said looking at me. Napatingin naman ako sa sarili ko't lihim akong napangisi.

Hair tied into a messy bun, loose tie, blazer on my left shoulder, sleeves folded up to my elbow, first two buttons of my blouse unbuttoned.

"Then maybe you should stay away from me too?" pabalik kong tanong sa kaniya.

"And why will I do that?" he asked innocently.

"Like you said, I am the Fire Tribe's long lost princess. If I want to walk alone the aisle, and you meddled, I can punish you." I joked.

"Like you will do that," I heard him whispered before he chuckled. "How will you punish me, hmm?" aniya habang nakangisi.

"Forget it." I hissed. I'm not pissed or what, I just wanted to talk less as much as possible.

"But seriously, your unexpected identity made an uproar." Nahalata ko naman 'yon. Hanggang ngayon nga ay naaalala ko pa kung paano sila magulantang nang malaman nila ang totoo.

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad. "Did you just say something?" He innocently knotted his forehead, looking at me like I have nine heads or something.
