Borno, Maiduguri

Aisha's wushe-wushe

Ya Salam, Maiduguri is so cold, Subahanallah. Today is Aisha's wushe wushe which is taking place at night after Maghreb inshallah. Then tomorrow is the wedding Fatiha and k3latul (which is the traditional washing of the bride's hair), Kaulu (Traditional dressing & presentation of the bride), and then the dinner at night. Both the K3latul and Kaulu is in the morning and afternoon, respectfully. 

Aidah is currently sitting in the balcony where they are getting their henna done, except for the bride. Aisha is currently dressed in a traditional Red attire for the kaulu, the talented photographer taking amazing shots of her before the event starts. 

The photographer(BigH) came and snapped the bride and her sisters and niece; ya Ummi, Nadia, Amira and Aidah.

Only Ya Ummi, Ya Mamma, Nadia, Mairam, Yakaka, Yassine and Aidah made it to the wedding along with their two sisters in-law, Ya Fatima and Ya Aisha. Iman is is Florida and Amma is in the states, Ya Bebi and Ya Zahra are not in the country.

''Aisha you better be preggy by Yassine and Aidah's wedding!." Said Ya Ummi which made them all laugh.

''Come on ummi'' Aisha said laughing

Everyone's going halter skelter getting ready for the wushe-wushe which is starting in less than an hour. They got their hair done earlier in the balcony. Aidah is now dressed in her white and orange traditional attire, 'dongashau'. The event is going to take place in the house, in a beautifully decorated grand marquee.

Nadia is having her hair done now by a woman that lives in their house here in Maiduguri. She is almost done.

''Ya Aidah please pass me my water." Said Nadia, Aidah passed her the water then stood up and left.

The wushe wushe has already started an hour ago. Everyone seems to be having a lot of fun. The normal activities were taking place, the bride was dressed in white. It was a Kanuri wushe wushe with a twist of Italian-Chadian.

The couple are now dancing to ganga-kura with the elders spraying money on them. Aidah on the other hand has been trying to snap a decent picture for almost thirty minutes now. She managed to snap one before her phone died. The picture isn't that good, her mouth was open as she was talking or something and Yassine even photo bombed it!

Maryam- Leema, have you guys set the wedding date?

Aidah- I wanted march but Ammi said wai yayi kusa da wayawa so they settled on JUNE inshallah Together with Yassine's.

Maryam- oh okay.....i can't believe you're getting married in 6 months!

Aidah – Me too!!

Maryam - Allah ya kaimu dai kawai

Aidah- Ameen!

Maryam- How is Aisha's wedding? I can't believe I'm missing it

Aidah- it's fun! Although Maiduguri is soooo cold wallahi

Maryam- eyyahh...anyway, I saw Sauda Remawa post Sayyid's picture today. Is it his birthday?

Aidah- Yes fah, I haven't even wished him yet

Maryam – Bad fiancé. How old is he seff?

Aidah – He turned 29

Maryam- Mashallah. Wish him for me okay?
