It was the next day, and in this particular day, there was no problems to take care of besides rebuilding the entire city. The construction workers kind of had a day off because not only did I rebuild the city, it was also Captain Multi day. Captain Multi day would be held on May thirtieth every year according to Captain Dirk. It was a day when the civilians of Harbor City would celebrate me and the things I did for them. It wasn't like the other day when I fought The Virus, this would be an every year thing.
The good thing about having duplication powers is being two places at once, and that's exactly what I did. While Captain Multi was at the ceremony giving a speech, I was at my parents funeral with my friends, family friends, and other relatives. "I wasn't there when my family died last night, but when I arrived I felt like I had no purpose to live, but my dad told me to stay strong, so I did. I also believed that Captain Multi would save the day, and he did by hurting Brian Crave for me." I said.
I looked at the closed caskets that contained my family members inside. "Rest in peace mom, dad, and Alyse." I said. I walked off the stage and sat down by my friends. My friends and close relatives were the only ones who knew that I was Captain Multi, but they didn't point that out.
When the funeral was over, I had everyone come to my house. One of the guests happened to be my dads lawyer who gave me my dads will. It had a list of what my family members got, but since my mother and sister were also dead, I got their possessions that were suppose to be handed down to them. Most of the things I got was all the money in my mom and dads accounts, which was about four hundred thousand dollars, a Swiss Army knife, and an old laptop.
I understood the four hundred thousand dollars, but I wasn't really sure why I was given a Swiss Army knife and the laptop. It seemed like he gave them to me for a specific reason, so when everyone left my house, I examined both of them. The Swiss Army Knife had a secret flash drive in it, so I plugged it into the computer. It was files of secret criminal societies, cartel information, and true conspiracy theories. Along with them was a message from my dad.
I looked at the message to see what it said. Dear Ian, If you're reading this message, then I am dead. I came across these as my time as a superhero, but they all disappeared without a trace. I knew that one day you would become the person you were even if I told you not to be. We'll keep being that person because I know you can make a difference in this world. If anyone can track these people down, you can. I love you son.
I tried not to cry, but I couldn't help myself. I then looked at the TV that I left on. It was talking about how a group of police officers were murdered and how they left a symbol. The symbol was a blood red c with a fractured bones behind it. It was the symbol that I remembered clear as day. It was Crippler's symbol. I was mad at who ever would turn that symbol of honor and justice into a symbol of criminalization.
"Just when I thought it was going to be a peaceful night." I said to myself. I then went to my bunker and put on my suit. I may have been a superhero a long time, but my life and adventures as Captain Multi were just beginning.
