I put my hand on the door knob and pulled out my gun. "Are you ready?" I asked. Blue Samurai nodded his head and held up his sword. I threw open the door to see The Virus looking out the window, watching the city being destroyed. "Turn around." I demanded. The Virus didn't turn around, he just laughed. "Turn the fuck around!" I screamed. The Virus turned around.
"So, what did you think of my son's new powers?" The Virus asked. "I think he needs improvement, now get on your fucking knees." I said. The Virus bent down on his knees and held his hands behind his head. A flash of red lit up the room. My powers drained from my body and based on Blue Samurai looking at his body, so did he. "These lights are from Harbor Penitentiary to keep super-humans like you from using their powers, how do you feel about them?" The Virus asked.
If the red lights drained my powers, maybe they drained The Virus's powers also. I shot at The Virus, but he phased right through the bullet. "My powers are immune to these lights, but nice try." The Virus said. The Virus lunged at Blue Samurai who swung his sword at him. The Virus phased through the sword and grabbed Blue Samurai by the throat.
I shot out the lights as quickly as I could before The Virus could snap Blue Samurai's neck. I then put a bullet in The Virus's shoulder which caused him to look at me. "Let him go." I said. "You could be a god with those powers, and yet you use them to be a pathetic hero. Your not a hero, your a psycho like me, but I know what I am." The Virus said. "This world doesn't need god's and criminals Crave, and I'm nothing like you." I said. "We both kill people, we both had someone close to us die, and there was that one person who made us into who we are Ian." The Virus explained.
My blood ran cold when I heard my name leave The Virus's mouth. "Why did you think I killed you family?" The Virus said. "Your family is dead?" Blue Samurai asked. "Yes, and I'm the one who did it." The Virus answered. "You piece of shit." I said. "I know it hurts Ian, but I want you to realize that I've won tonight. I took this cities hope away, I made people hate you, and now I'm about to kill you while your last memory is that you failed everyone." The Virus said.
I shot The Virus straight in the head. His grip weakened as he fell to the floor and died. My brain couldn't pick up any heartbeats so part of me wanted to celebrate. I picked up Blue Samurai from the ground. "Are you alright?" I asked. "If almost dying means alright, then yes." Blue Samurai said. I heard the sound of a heart beating, and I knew it wasn't Blue Samurai's. I quickly turned with my pistol, but the pistol was knocked out of my hand. The Virus then jumped into Blue Samurai and stomped on his face.
"Deadpool wannabe down, one more hero wannabe to go." The Virus said. Blue Samurai was dead for now, so it was up to me to fight The Virus. "How are you still alive?" I asked. "Remember when I told you that I was making an anti-virus that wouldn't die until the virus it's trying to destroy dies, well that's what's going on here. I'm a walking super virus that will only be killable when you die." The Virus explained. I picked up my pistol and aimed it at The Virus. "You can't keep trying to kill me, I'm just going to comeback and hurt you." The Virus said. "I know, but I can stop you." I said. The Virus walked up to me. "Before I kill you, I have to know, is my son dead?" The Virus asked. "No, but Infinite, well, she's as dead as your wife." I said.
The Virus rushed at me with anger and pinned me against the wall. I spawned a clone behind The Virus and tore him off of me. "Captain Multi, I'm about to destroy the last tower." Obsidian informed. "Good job Obsidian." I said. "If your fire friend takes down the last tower, no one is safe." The Virus said. "Obsidian, don't destroy.." I began saying. A dust storm formed out of The Decrease machine that was attached to The Virus's chest and spread across the city.
It knocked both me and The Virus backwards into the wall. When I got up, I tried to contact Blake, Zach, and Nick. "Guys, are you there?" No response. "Guys, are you there?" Still no response. "No Ian, they aren't safe." The Virus said. "What did you do?" I asked. That dust knocked some people in Harbor City out, but if they're lucky, some of them will get powers and use them for their own gain." The Virus explained. The Virus pulled a particle accelerator explosion just like The Flash TV show.
"I was honestly hoping it would knock you out too, but I guess I'll have to fight you." The Virus said. I got up and tackled The Virus our of the window. We fell and started punching each other. I grappled away from The Virus and started running. I wasn't running out of fear, I was running to hide from The Virus and do the guerrilla warfare tactic.
I hid in an alleyway waiting for The Virus to show up, but it was like he knew where I was because he phased through the wall and kicked me. I flew backwards into the building wall. The Virus threw a punch towards my face and I dodged it. I went to punch The Virus, but I phased right though him.
I turned around and jumped onto The Virus's back. "You could use your powers for good, why aren't you?" I asked. "The me before was good, and look at what happened to me. I've been trying to act like the good guy, and I always felt empty inside, but now that I'm using these powers to be bad, I never felt more alive." The Virus explained. The Virus launched his back towards the wall, which caused me to let go of him.
"I bet you can't catch me." The Virus said. I got up and sprinted after The Virus. I ran past a pipe that blew up and released steam all over the alleyway. It was hot, but my suit allowed me to handle it without boiling to death. As soon as I left the steam clouded alleyway, a street light blew up and started to fall towards me. I rolled out of the way just as it was about to hit my head.
The Virus was standing at the door of the building, waiting for me. He phased through the building while I grappled up the building. He would continue to phase through building until I got ahead of him. "Stop running Brian." I said. The Virus didn't listen to me and kept running at me. I shot at him, but he didn't die from the bullets.
He grabbed me and held me as far away as he could from himself. I saw a cars headlights turn on and a car drive at me. I spawned a clone behind The Virus, had the clone grab The Virus, then I kicked off and flipped over the on coming car. The Virus killed my clone and charged me. He slashed at me with his claws and I ducked. I landed a few punches in his stomach and managed to trip him. Before I could stomp on his head like he did Blue Samurai, he grabbed my feet and tripped me.
The Virus then landed a very strong punch on my knee cap. I could feel it bust open and felt a dribble of blood going down my legs. I managed to get up and struggle through the pain. The Virus grabbed my face and tried to slam it into the concrete. I spawned four clones, and had them group up on The Virus.
"It's over Brian." I said. "This war between us doesn't end until you die." The Virus said. The Virus made the clones go flying and then made a car drive at me. My brain made me do a jump and land on the car. The Virus also had a car that he followed me in. The car took me to the exact spot that I lost Crippler. The memories started flooding back into my mind of that same night that I lost the pure good in me.
I then realized that I was going to die if I didn't get off the car, so I hit the pavement and rolled. The Virus jumped out just as our cars went straight into the harbor. "This is the place where your mentor died, I think it's a good idea to honor his memory by reenacting his death. I'll be Mondollo and you'll be Crippler." The Virus said.
I punched The Virus straight across his face and then picked up a rusty pipe. I swung it into The Virus's stomach with excruciating force. He fell to the floor but quickly got back up. The Virus took a piece of my suit off with his cybernetic claws. The pain hurt worst than my busted knee cap, but I kept going. I spawned a clone on the side of The Virus and grabbed him. I kicked The Virus right in the chin and then pinned him against the wall.
"I think we should change our roles." I said. I let my grip loosen so The Virus could speak. "I'll be you and you'll be Mondollo's men." The Virus said. The Virus kicked my stomach, and I was force to let go of The Virus completely. I spawned a wall of clones around me to protecting me from The Virus's charge. I forgot that The Virus could phase right through anything I threw at him, including people, so I was greeted with a claw to the leg.
I tore the claws from my leg and started fighting again. I felt a rush of adrenaline as I tackled and pummeled The Virus. If The Virus could still bleed, there would be a puddle of blood moving towards the water. The Virus infected a street light and made it start to fall over. If it was a clone about to be crushed it wouldn't of been a big deal, but I was about to be crushed and it was a huge deal to me.
I dove out of the way of the falling street light.
The Virus got up and into one of the coastguards boats and sat down in the drivers seat. This type of boat had a machine gun in the back of it that shot fifty caliber rounds. The Virus hacked into the machine gun and aimed it directly at my face. I ran away from the bullet storm and into cover. I spawned a wall of clones to protect me while I made my way for a boat exactly like The Virus's.
When I sat down in the boat, I spawned a clone to aim the machine gun at The Virus's boat. I accelerated the boat deeper into the lake depths. The Virus and I both shot at each other and managed to get a few hits in. A bullet nearly took off my head when I tried to ram The Virus boat. I stood up on the edge of my boat and The Virus did the same. I had a clone controlling my boat while the Virus controlled his boat with his hacking ability. We both lunged at each other and punched each other.
We both fell into The Virus's boat and started to fist fight again. I notice a small compartment in the boat that could hold essentials that a typical sailor would need when exploring this vast lake, so I moved my hand in it in search of a weapon. I found a flare gun that was already loaded and I aimed it at The Virus but was quickly disarmed. The flare gun still went off and sent a huge red ball into the sky.
The Virus swept me off my feet and carried me over to the edge of the boat. "How long can you hold your breath Ian?" The Virus asked. The Virus dipped me into the icy cold lake. My mask had a breathing apparatus that would last at least thirty minutes, but I couldn't just sit there and wait that long. I pulled out my grappling gun and stuck the hook into the bottom of the boat. I then spawned a clone who grabbed The Virus from behind. I went under the water and was dragged by the boat.
The boat hit a wave and I flew up into the air. I packed some grenades for a last resort, and this seemed like the perfect time to use them since I might not get another shot. I threw the grenade onto The Virus's boat, and grappled onto my boat. The grenade blew up the boat, but The Virus survived by jumping off onto my boat.
I heard my grenades ticking, so I spawned clones around me and had them throw them into the lake. Water entered the boat as the grenades blew up around us. The Virus slashed his cybernetic claws at me, but I grabbed his wrist and snapped it into two pieces. I spawned a clone and then grabbed The Virus. My clone and I held The Virus over the water. "Try to beat my record." I said.
I dumped The Virus under the water and watched as he struggled to get out. The Virus went limp and for a second I thought I won, but I turned to be wrong when I saw the cybernetic claws stab my clone. The Virus then flipped himself up and grabbed me by the throat. He removed my mask with force and threw it to the front of the boat.
"Why do you keep trying when I ruined you?" The Virus asked. The Virus punched me across the face. "People hate you now and see you how I see you." The Virus said. The Virus punched me across the face again. "You have no parents or siblings." The Virus said. The Virus punched me in the face a third time. "You can't kill me." The Virus said. The Virus punched me a fourth time. "I made you break your morals." The Virus said. The Virus hit me a fifth time. "Why do you keep trying to play hero? Why do you keep fighting me and the fact that your as psycho as me? And why can't you just lose?" The Virus asked. The Virus slammed my face into the side of the boat.
The Virus then started to beat the shit out of me while I started to black out. I felt my body and soul traveling to a new world or realm. I looked around the new world that I was in, and then realized that it was the MultiRealm. I could see the Captain Multi Entity holding its hand out. "Take my hand Ian, you need this power." Captain Multi said. I took the Captain Multi Entity's hand and felt a bright light entering my body.
I then zoned back into reality to feel the punches coming in contact with my face. When The Virus got done punching me, he dropped me on the boat floor and looked in the compartment. He pulled out and anchor and chain. "I know I tried to kill you before The Decrease, but I'm glad I didn't. When I saw you shoot my wife, I wanted to just stab you until you bled out, but then I realized that I had to show everyone how I see you. I realized that I would make a martyr out of you if I just killed you, so I made you look bad." The Virus said.
"I know Brian, I was there to see it, please stop rambling on." I said. The Virus kicked me across the face. "I knew from the beginning that you were nothing but a psychopath who needed to be put in a padded cell, but others didn't see you that way, but now they know that you caused The Decrease by making me, and they'll always hate you." The Virus said. I struggled to get off the ground, but I did. "No they won't, because they hate you, an insane person who caused the chaos. This won't end how you think Virus." I said.
The Virus grabbed me by the throat and held me close to his face. "Okay, even if I don't make them hate you, I'll take away their hope of you by killing you and showing that there is no hero. So either way Captain Multi, if they hate you or lose hope in the fact that your not the hero you claim to be, I'll win, because in the end you'll die knowing one of those things." The Virus said.
The Virus extended his claws and had them in a stabbing position. "I can't kill you, so I'll do the next best thing." I said. "And what's that?" The Virus asked. "By making sure that none of those things happen and that I stop everyone of your plans." I said. "Too bad there won't be a next time." The Virus said. I spawned a less beat up clone of me right behind The Virus and traveled over to its body. The Captain Multi Entity gave me the power to teleport into my clones bodies and replace the original body I was in with a clone.
The Virus stabbed the clone that he held in his hands and then went to tie the anchor around its leg. "There will definitely be a next time." I said. The Virus turned around with a surprised look on his face. "What the fuck?" The Virus said. "No matter what you do to me, I'll always stop you from causing harm to others, I'll always make up for the things you do, and I'll always find ways to keep hope around." I said.
I spawned a clone right next to my mask just as The Virus charged me. I teleported into the clones body and put on my mask. When The Virus was done killing my clone, he turned around to see me. "How are you doing this?" The Virus asked. The Virus then charged me and started to throw punches at me, but I dodged all the punches he threw at me. I grabbed his wrist and then elbowed him in the face. The Virus fell to the floor and tried to get up quickly, but I was above him and punching him.
I spawned five clones around The Virus and had them gang up on The Virus while I got the anchor ready. The lake happened to be sixty five feet deep and a perfect place for The Virus to visit for a while. The purpose the clones had in this move was to make sure The Virus was focused on them and didn't phase through the chain. I tied the chain around him while he was busy fighting the clones and stepped back. I made the clones disappear so The Virus could stand up.
The Virus could barely stand straight like he was drunk. The Virus was wounded and didn't have in him to attack me or phase through the chain. "Better luck next time Virus." I said. I spawned a clone straight out of my chest and kicked him into the air. The Virus went flying up into the air with the anchor. I turned the boat around and drove it straight towards him. I could feel the thud as the boat jumped off of a wave and hit The Virus. The Virus went limp for real this time and sunk to the bottom of the lake.
I stopped the boat and got into the cold water to see if The Virus had indeed floated to the bottom. My plan did work and I saw The Virus's hands up as he sunk so deep that I couldn't see his figure anymore. I then climbed back onto the boat, and went to start it. I saw another boat right next to me that had Captain Dirk inside of it.
"Are you here to arrest me?" I asked. Captain Dirk looked as if he was trying to find the right words or was trying to say something very hard to say. "Thanks for saving Harbor City." Captain Dirk said. I was surprised as this was literally the first time that Captain Dirk seemed on my side. "What?" I asked. "Thank you for saving Harbor City. Listen Captain Multi, I'm sorry for treating you like crap, and you really saved this city's ass. I know that The Virus thinks the city hates you, and you might of in a way created him, but the city doesn't hate you, you just showed everyone that you'll pull through no matter what." Captain Dirk said.
I was speechless and didn't know what to say, all I could think was that The Virus really did lose. "I don't know what to say, I..." I said. "Don't worry about what to say, I just wanted to know that I'm glad your in my city and that no one hates you. I would also like to know if you can use your clones to help rebuild the city." Captain Dirk said. "Sure, just lets just start tomorrow." I said.
Captain Dirk leaned over his boat with his hand toward me. I shook his hand and then drove my boat back to the city's shore line. I then made my way home to the bunker where I saw Zach, Blake, Nick, and Jeffrey sitting. "Did you kill The Virus?" Blake asked. "The Virus is invincible and can only be killed when I die, so I didn't kill him, I just sent him to the bottom of the lake." I explained. "So he'll be back?" Nick asked. "Yes, but I don't think I'll have to worry about him for a while." I said.
"Does he know who all of us are?" Jeffrey asked. "I think he only knows who I am, I'm not sure about you guys." I said. I took off my suit and sat down on the couch. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm exhausted." I said. "What about your parents and sister?" Zach asked. "I'm going to throw a funeral for them tomorrow." I said. I looked over at Nick who got up and started running around the room at super speeds.
"Nick, when did you get super speed?" Zach asked. "The dust storm that hit everyone must of knocked them out and for most people, they got superpowers." I explained. As if Nick running around the room with super speed wasn't freaky enough, Blake used telekinesis to move a cup sitting on the table in front of him. Two of my friends had super powers now, which felt weird to me since I never imagined them having any powers.
"What are you guys going to do with your powers?" I asked. "Use them for good." Nick and Blake said at the same time. I knew they would say those words, but I had to make sure they weren't going to use them to hurt innocents. "So with The Virus defeated, who are we going after now?" Jeffrey asked. "Who ever we want." I replied.
I then got up and opened the door to the elevator. "You guys should go home to your families." I suggested. "What about superheroes who don't have families anymore?" Jeffrey asked. "If you really want to, then I guess you can stay here." I said. Zach, Nick, and Blake left the bunker, but Jeffrey fell asleep on the couch in fifteen seconds. I slept on the other couch and thought to myself how I would of made my family proud. Tonight was a night I could fully relax because there was no other criminals to go after and worry about.
