His eyes met mine and I looked down unknowingly. He shifted his gaze to Priyam now making me realized Priyam has slept.

I tucked him to bed. He went close to Priyam to check on him. Once he was assured he was asleep he turned to me.
" Priyam always sleep either with me or Mom. I'll take him to Mom." Saying he bent toward Priyam to lift him up only to stopped by me.
"Its completely fine. Today let him sleep here. He was already cranky because of this function and crowd. He will wake up on your touch. He just slept now." My voice came out as plead.
"He will disturb you and I won't be here for help. Mom know how to take care of him when he wakes up in night. So its better not to take risk of midnight fiasco." He countered back.
"Oh!" I could say only this after remembering the struggle I had to make him sleep but I couldn't digest the fact that my baby will sleep far from me when I made him sleep with my own efforts. Before I can say my perspective he disappeared in the bathroom after collecting his clothes.
I started to remove my remaining jewelries on the cue that if bride needs to dolled up till entry of the groom as movies shows then this drama has already ended.
I turned my head towards washroom when door opened and there he was standing in his formal clothes.

Seeing my confused face he started, " I have some work. I'll be back in morning."
He approached towards exit but my two words "wait, listen." stopped him. "May I know where you are going? I know I'm no one to interrogate but if someone ask me about your whereabouts then I'm ought to have an answer." He stared at me for seconds then answered looking everywhere but me, "Its okay. There is an emergency in hospital. I have to go there. Umm...actually I wanted to say one more thing that..we... I mean I'm going to Chennai tomorrow. You can come with Priyam after few days once you know how to take care of a small baby."
