29| Saving Grace

you see, I wear a crown of thorns,

standing in the rain.

hoping the water will cleanse my soul,

and wash away this pain.

the undercurrent is moving quick,

I know you're scared, my love.

but don't be frightened when I go adrift,

I'll protect you from above.

you see, I wear a robe of red,

the color of my blood.

with bones of white and eyes of brown,

it's just the picture before the flood.

too weak to keep my head up high,

please remember my face.

with this crown of thorns and monsterous soul,

I was never given a saving grace.
