The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas

can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.

Think big anyway.

- Kent M. Keith, The Silent Revolution

'Don't bend; don't water it down;

don't try to make it logical;

don't edit your own soul according to the fashion.

Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.

- Frank Kafka

Words to inspire... and they certainly did.

Is it as curious and bizarre to you as it is to me, that so many males of the bird world (and many of the animal world, also) are glorious creatures, like the peacock - full of splendour and pomp and glory, while the poor little female is so often smaller, clumsier, totally drab and colourless. She is designed to be a mother, raise the kids and basically take a back seat to all of life's happenings.

And yet in homo sapiens, it's the female who spends inordinate amounts of time and money on her beautification... and keeping herself that way! And the male has mostly been dressed in the more sober and sensible wardrobe.

Of course, there are exceptions to both these rules... and many of them. Still interesting, if you ask me.
