Lot's Wife

She was Lot's wife on repeat.
With her heart she loved the things forcefully left behind; she dedicated herself to them in every way drawn to mind.
Though she knew there was no use in turning back, for everything would all be gone...she still believed
"Or maybe they lied."
Cold shoulders turned joke.
Stares at the ground whenever she passed them in the hallway, all just obliviousness.
Maybe they lied.
She knew deep down that their actions were truer than anything they had ever said to her.
She knew better than to believe all of the times they said they loved her.
But she turned back to watch as the flames consumed them.
She turned back just long enough to realize how wrong she had been.
And still today no one knows her name.
