When we parked at a well-maintained home, an older gentleman waved. Dan walked over to him. "Bill thanks."

"No problem. Least I can do since you watched Tootsie for us."

"She was no problem and Hershey loved it."

"Oh, look here she comes!" Bill patted his leg.

"Hi Anna." Dan waved. I saw her, another puppy just like Hershey.

"Oh!" I said in surprise.

Dan turned to me. "They're from the same litter." She was called Tootsie which I guessed was for Tootsie Roll and not the old movie.

"Danny, who's your friend," Anna asked, with the emphasis on friend. It was obvious she assumed we were more than friends.

"This is Paige. Paige, Anna, and Bill."

"Nice to meet you. Your home looks beautiful."

Dan said, "Listen I'm staying at my father's house on The Point. If you two want to come over for a walk, I can return the favor of a parking spot."

"We just might take you up on it. The beach and a lobster roll is my idea of a perfect day," Anna said.

"No place better for both of those than at The Point." Daniel agreed.

"You, young people should get on with your walk. We may be out when you're done, but Dan, we'll be in touch for a playdate," Anna said.

Daniel waved, as we turned and started up the road. Once we were out of earshot, I said, "Playdate?"

"Yeah, we get the dogs together. I also watched Tootsie for a week while they were out of town. If I ever take a vacation, they would do the same for Hershey."

"I'll watch Hershey for you." Dan laughed dramatically. "What?"

"I'm sure you will. I'm aware you're trying to steal my dog."

"No, I'm not. I can't help it if she likes me better than you. She's a good judge of character."

"I'm afraid when Labor Day comes, we'll have to have a custody agreement." He laughed again.

"Would you do that? Would you share her with me?" I asked excitedly.

"I'm not sure. It may depend on how nice you are to me."

He flashed his charming smile. The one that always made my body forget I wasn't supposed to like him and made my heart race.

We continued up the street until we reached the entrance to a path. We had to turn sideways to enter into the narrow passage made in the shrubs. The surface started as dirt, but as we reached the edge of the cliff there were rocks to step over.
