Isabella's pov

I can't believe I just said that. I can't believe I just admitted it in front of him. I almost regretted it but at the same time I felt as if a weight has been lift from my shoulders.

I stood up and turned away because I couldn't dare to look at him. I felt the hot tears running down my face. Soon it felt arms wrapped around me pulling me close and I knew it was him. I didn't flinch like I normally do. I leaned in.  He held me as I cried into his chest.

I looked into his beautiful grey eyes that held concern for a girl his only met for three weeks. He wiped my tears and placed a small kiss on my cheek. It surprised me but I liked it. I hid my head in his chest to hide the blush. I heard him chuckling and that embarrassed me even more. He made me look at him but I refused so I closed my eyes.

"Look at me Bella." I shook my head no. "Open your eyes Isabella. " He said and I opened them. "You didn't deserve to go through all that. I'm sorry you had to go through all that alone."I smiled and hugged him tight .

"Thank you Xavier. "

"Bella , what was his name?"He asked and I stood back looking at him wondering why he would want to know that.

"Why do you want to know?"I asked him and he seemed taken aback with my question.

"I just want to know. I want to make sure that he never comes near you and Mia again." He said and all of a sudden that calm exterior disappeared and was replaced with anger. I looked at him confused.

"Did he ever touch Mia?" He asked with rage clear in his eyes.

"No , he didn't. I would rather die than let that happen." I say. I looked at him and saw that he visibly relaxed.

"So he never came near her?" He asked.

"No, he doesn't even know about her and I hope he never finds out about her. "I said and he looked over at Mia deep in thought.

"I'll make sure he never comes near her. Or you. " He said as he looked and Mia and she smiled at him.

"How did it happen Bella?" Xavier asked as he picked Mia up and placed him on his lap.

"He was my mom's boyfriend.  After my dad died my mom gave her life away to drugs and alcohol. He used to come by all the time. He started staying with us and I never liked the way he looked at me. It always gave me the kreeps. I told mom about it but she never paid attention to me. She started getting abusive after dad died. She would hit me and yell at me whenever he was around and he just stood there smiling. He started touching me when she wasn't around and whenever I would put up a fight he would slap me and beat me up. I never backed down though I kept fighting but I was never strong enough.

He started by forcing me to please him, to suck him and he would insert his fingers inside of me. This would go on for hours every night untill he felt like it wasn't enough anymore. He eventually ended up raping me. I cried to my mom but she didn't care. She was passed out on the floor when he took my innocence. I've hated her ever since.

I went to the police station the next day but it was no use because he ran away. He fled the country and we couldn't find him anywhere. That is why I'm so protective of my daughter. I live in fear of what he might do to her when he finds us. I would rather die than let the same thing happen to her."I said as I turned around and faced him once again to find him looking at me.

"He will never come near her. Don't you worry about that." He said and wrapped his arms around her.

I stared at him and couldn't help but notice how protective he is of Mia. At first I thought I was seeing things but the past few weeks I've noticed that his always with her. He spends time with her and she never leaves his sight when his home.

"Xavier. Can I ask you something? "

"You can ask me anything Bella." How do I put this mildly.

"Don't take this the wrong way but I couldn't help but notice how attached you are to Mia. Don't get me wrong I like it. It's good knowing that you care about her. I just.. I noticed how possessive you are over her and it's kinda weird.  You didn't strike me as the type of guy that loves kids you know."

"I love her Bella." Woah I didn't expect that. He could see the shock clear on my face.

"What? Just because I'm a gang leader doesn't mean I don't have feelings." He said and I nodded.

"I understand. I was just wondering. "

"I love Mia. She's my little girl. I want to be her father. I want to raise her with you. I want her to grow up calling me dad. I will protect her with my life. All I ask of you is to allow me to be a part of her life. I beg you." He kneeled down in front of me with his hands on my waist.

"I , I. ..I don't know what to say."I honestly didn't know what to say.

"Please Bella. " I looked into his beautiful blue eyes and knew he was being genuine. He loves my daughter and she loves him too. It would be selfish of me to not agree since Mia seems to be in love with him too. I won't take my baby girls happiness away from her.

"Yes Xavier... I'll allow you to be her daddy. "
