You have been best friends with Riley Davis for ages. Both your moms were close when you two were little, so you would have play dates nearly every week from the time you were born. Since then you have been practically inseparable. So, when Riley went to prison, you were crushed. Your best friend was gone, and you didn't know what to do. Luckily, a few months ago, Riley was released from prison and got a new job at a think tank somewhere in LA. You've met a few of her coworkers from time to time, politely exchanging greetings and engaging in short-lived small talk. But, there's one of her coworkers in particular who you just haven't been able to get out of your head. That's Angus MacGyver. Every time you see him, your heart starts beating a little faster, and your stomach begins to flutter. You don't exactly know why, but something about him just draws you in with some unfathomable force.

"I heard you asked about me through a friend, and my adrenaline kicked in 'cause I've been asking 'bout you too, and now we're out here in this room."

One day, Riley tells you that MacGyver is planning a party at his house for some close friends.

"Mac asked me to invite you to his party tonight if you wanna come," Riley tells you.

"Me?" You ask, confused. "We don't even know each other that well. Why would he invite me?"

"Well, you are my friend, so maybe he was just being nice," she says plainly. "But," she quirks an eyebrow," you should know that he's been asking about you a lot lately..."

Your eyes go wide, and you can feel a blush creep upon your cheeks. Riley notices this too as she tries to suppress a chuckle. She continues, "... so I think you should come by. The party's tonight at seven." With that, she walks away grinning before you can say another word.

Later that night, perhaps against your better judgement, you take a leap of faith and find yourself standing at Mac's front door. You take a breath and calmly knock on the door.

Seconds later, Mac's friend Bozer answers the door. "Hey, Y/N, right?" he asks.

"Yeah, hi Bozer. Good to see you again," you reply. You walk through the door and see Riley already there. She walks over to you and puts her arm around you.

"Hey! You decided to come I see. I'm glad you did! And, I think there's someone else here who will be glad as well," she remarks as you follow her gaze to where the tall, blonde is - the same person you haven't been able to stop thinking about all day.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say," you reply somewhat nonchalantly. But you aren't fooling anyone - just thinking about Mac makes you blush ten different shades of red.

"I get a little bit nervous around you. I get a little bit stressed out when I think about you. I get a little excited, baby when I think about you"

Bozer strides over to where you and Riley stand to offer you a beer, and you gratefully accept, hoping that the alcohol will help calm the butterflies creeping into your stomach. You follow him and Riley out to the back porch where everyone else is chatting amongst themselves. You walk over to the railing overlooking the LA skyline and admire the beauty of the stars hanging above the bright city lights. As you take a sip out of the cold bottle in your hands, you see a figure approach from the corner of your eye.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" You hear a voice say. You turn to your right and see Mac standing right next to you, calmly leaning against the railing. You look over at him, eyes showing a stunned expression, and you nervously gulp the cool liquid, which gets warmer and warmer the further down it travels. "The view, I mean," he replies with a mischievous smile when you don't say anything in return.

"Oh, umm yeah, it really is," you say. "Thanks, uh, for inviting me here tonight," you somehow manage to force out.

"Of course. I'm glad you came. I actually wasn't sure if you would," he admits. "But, I really am happy that you did."

You start to feel your heart beat faster, and you sense your cheeks begin to warm. You look down at your shoes, hoping Mac won't see the redness you knew had found it's way upon your face. "I'll admit I was a little surprised when Riley said you wanted me to come here tonight," you say quietly.

Mac raises his eyebrows slightly in response. "Really? I thought it might not come as such a surprise," he admits looking slightly away as well, almost afraid to look you in the eyes. That remark triggers your heart into absolute overdrive. You can feel your palms begin to sweat as you place your beer bottle in the ledge and rub them against the rough fabric of your jeans.

"And w-why is that?" You manage to mutter. He turns to face you again, this time with a bit of surprise in his face. You build the courage to look up into Mac's eyes as he speaks again. However, his deep blue gaze only manages to entrap you even more. At this point your heart is beating so fast you think it could beat straight out of your chest - that is if you don't pass out first.

"Are you really gonna make me say it?" he chuckles slightly, fooling with his own beer bottle in his hands. "Y/N," he sighs, "I don't know what it is about you, but ever since Riley introduced us, I haven't been able to get you off my mind." Mac looks into your eyes, searching for a response. You stand there stunned, not expecting such an honest response. Your stomach starts doing somersaults all over, and your head begins to feel slightly dizzy at Mac's intense but sweet gaze.

"I- uh- I'm not sure what to say," you admit shyly. "To be honest, I've been thinking a lot about you too, but every time I see you, I just get so nervous," you honestly reply as your face reddens even more. Mac smirks to himself.

"Yeah, I can kind of tell," he chuckles, and you can't help but laugh too. "Don't worry, I think it's cute," he adds with a wink. You smile and exhale a breath that you didn't know you had been holding in.

The two of you spend the rest of the night talking and laughing in your own little universe, almost as if the rest of the party doesn't even exist. You can't help but think this is the start of something electric.

There's no denying that Mac sends your body into overdrive, but you have to admit that you really don't mind.

"...And I'm not usually like this, but I like what you're doing to me, oh, what you're doing to me."
