Paradise

chapter one.

I woke up to my best friend, Makenzie, running around my bedroom screaming like a little kid on Christmas morning. "Averyyyy, wake up! We're going to Hawaii today!" she exclaimed.

Just to annoy her, I roll over in my bed and say "Hawaii can wait one more day so I can sleep some more." She then takes my pillow and starts hitting me with it, so I finally get up.

Eventually, I get out of bed and go to the bathroom. Since it's a traveling day, I put my hair in a messy bun and didn't put any makeup on. I had my clothes to wear for the flight laid out on my dresser so everything else would be packed up for our 2 week vacation. I quickly changed into my jean shorts, a white and black striped v-neck shirt, and threw on an off white cardigan because I knew I would get cold on the flight. After Mak and I were completely ready, we took off to starbucks. The line was terrible, but we were really early so we didn't mind. Mak is a freak about being on time, so we still had an hour until we had to be at the airport.

Finally, we got our coffees. We got our two best guy friends drinks too, because we knew they would give us hell the whole trip if we didn't get them anything.
Soon, we met up with Liam and Cole at the airport. All four of us have been best friends since sophomore year of high school, and we're still friends to this day. This Hawaii trip is our senior vacation, and so we have been planning this ever since junior year.

We hug each other like we haven't seen one another in years, but we all hung out like last week. That's how close we all are.
"Did you save some of your coffee for me?" Cole asks me with a huge smile on his face.

"Nope. But I did decide to get you one." I say handing it to him.
Liam already grabbed his coffee out of Mak's hand before she even got to hug him, and he had finished it in 2.5 seconds.
"Woah there Liam" Mak says laughing.
"You didn't even enjoy the drink" I laugh.
"What? Oh! Yes I did, hahaha thanks" Liam says. Liam is on his phone a lot, always texting his girlfriend, Madison. He's so caught up with her, and she wasn't too happy about how he was going on a 2 week vacation with two other girls, so he's trying to make sure she doesn't get mad at him by texting her constantly. But she has to realize that we are all like brothers and sisters by now. Makenzie has been with her boyfriend, Marcus, ever since freshman year and she's always been loyal. And Marcus is very trusting so he knows she won't do anything stupid.
The two single people on this trip are me and Cole. I used to have the biggest crush on him freshman and sophomore year. I told him about my feelings for him, but he didn't want to ruin our friendship. Now we're just best friends and I don't like him like that anymore.
When we get on the plane, my whole group is fast asleep. Except me. I'm awake, and I just enjoy listening to Shawn Mendes songs until i drift to sleep.

Someone starts shaking me.
"Wha-huh?" I say pulling my ear buds out of my ears.
"Aves, look our your window!" Cole exclaims.
I turn my head and I see the most beautiful and clear water over a beach with white sand. We are here.
"Okay guys, we are about to land. I'm just preparing you all for little bumps on the way down." the pilot announces.

When we finally get out of the airport, we go and get our rental car, and then Cole drives us to our beach cabin. After what seems like hours, we finally get to the beach cabin. And I promise that I'm not over exaggerating about this. The view of the beach is amazing. Liam unlocks the door and we all walk in.

It was absolutely beautiful. The theme of this house is of course, beach themed. The walls were a light blue color with pictures of the beach on them. The kitchen was really nice, too. It had a coffee machine, which I was thankful for, and then a tall bar area to eat. The living room had a big white couch with blue pillows and then a white chair facing the TV. There are two bathrooms. I walk into the bigger bathroom, which will be for the girls, and it has 2 mirrors and then the lights going all around for perfect makeup lighting. Thank goodness. Our cabin has 2 bedrooms, one for Mak and I, and the other for the boys.

I go and put my luggage in my room and then go to the balcony. The sun is setting and it's the most astonishing thing I have ever seen. I take a quick picture of it and then relax and sit on the comfy chair out on the huge balcony. I hear the soothing sound of the waves crashing into some huge rocks and thank God we all had enough money to do this. This would be a trip to remember.

Soon, Mak comes out to the balcony and tells me that we're going out.
"Do I need to change clothes?" I ask her.
"Nah, the boys and I planned out that we're going out to eat and then getting groceries. We can have an early night tonight so we can chill on the beach all day tomorrow." she explains to me.
"Okay sounds good."

We eat and then get groceries and then drift right off to sleep. Today has been great just spending quality time with my best friends. We have 2 whole weeks of being together and I'm overjoyed I get to spend senior vacation with them.

sorry that this chapter is superrrr long and it doesn't talk about shawn yet, it was just introducing the Avery and her friends, but he is in the next chapter!
