Maybe

I meet you in college.
That little smile on your face.
The way you smiled.
I knew you cared for me.
And i cared for you.
But it was different you see.
I cared for you more than a friend.
But you didn't feel the same.
You made me smile.
You made me laugh.
The time we had together were a blast.
I wish you were more than just a friend.
But you had your priorities at hand.
You knew what you wanted.
And i was still behind the line.
I kept trying to meet your expectations.
But I kept falling.
I wanted you to love me.
But how can you love me.
Someone who wasnt at your mark.
The checklist you created.
The one I fit in so many ways but one.
I wish I was her.
The girl that made your feel warm inside.
But I am just that friend.
The one that jokes and makes you laugh.
If only I had that one check mark.
Maybe we could have been.
