Xavier is a nobody in school. He barely scrapes through his exams, no one takes notice of him in orchestra, and even his best friend is an over-achiever.
Diana has got it all. Popularity, grades, looks. The perfect girl. They belonged in different...
This is a project that I've been working on and I've conceptualised the idea of since early 2017. I never wanted to post it online so it laid in a word document quietly in my computer as I edited and completed it slowly over the months. And now it's finally completed :) (Just the first draft at least) and I can finally share it with readers who are interested :) Because there's just something nerve-wracking about having others reading something that's not completed yet ._. For me at least.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to challenge myself:
1. to write from a 1st person guy's POV (I've been writing from a girl's POV for as long as I can remember since I'm a female myself, it's so difficult to imagine what guys actually think), I actually had to research about how to make a male's POV more relatable
2. to write about time travel (fixed timeline/dynamic timeline/multiverse) since I wasn't sure if I could pull off everything without confusing myself in the end. I spent quite a bit of time on YouTube videos and TV tropes
3. to write about disability, in particular amputation. I spent a ton of time researching about prostheses, medical cases about congenital amputations, related procedures/operations, recounts about the emotional and psychological issues that surround amputation.
Admittedly, I've revised the concepts and ideas many times over. On nights that I was unable to fall asleep I have mused about my characters and the plot development before arriving at this. Nevertheless, this draft is still not finalised and I would very much love to hear all your thoughts and opinions on it :) And in what ways I can improve the plot/expressions/etc. :)
Thank you and I hope that you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it :) Heads up: it's around a 75K word count for now.
P. S. I've also made a few book covers (because I love exploring Canva and because I'm a sloth and refuse to do stuff relevant in real life :( ) so do let me know which one is most fitting in your opinion :D
