Chapter 3

"Hey mom " I said extra cheerful voice since I know I'm going to get earful nagging  soon. Dan it . I forgot that my mother hardly saved from sweet words .

"Don't hey mom me Anouk Star Abbott . You haven't called us for 2 days straight,  you know? You made us worried baby " Her anger ran out  through the window in the last part . Scary mode changed.

Well that's my mother Ria Abbott.  Sweetest woman in the earth who made my father go through the hell when he was courting her.  She can easily change from sweet mode to scary mode easily . It would be the best if you not mess with her and try your luck.

"I know I'm sorry mom forgive me it wasn't my intention to make you all worried  . I was busy last few days and I haven't left the hospital  . I'm leaving early  today and I planned to call you tonight " I told her the truth explaining my situation.  She would caught me if I ever lied to her .

"Oh Anouk you are working so hard baby . You are doing so much than average 24 years old .   Please take a rest okay . Your health is much important than other things " I know they are struggling with their lives too . They hardly cover their expenses with my mom's part time salary.  Sadly I have so many loans to pay and collect money for dad's surgery sooner so resting is out of my book. I wanted send more money for them but I hardly manage myself in Boston while paying out those bloody loans.

"It's nothing mom . Just had a little hectic days. I took a day off today and I'm going to sleep whole day "I said in cheerful voice hidding my tiredness . Damn , my eyelids would fall anytime soon. My every bone screamed when I moved around.

"Let me hand the phone to your father . He is whining too much about not being able to talk  his littlestar " My mom said . I bet she is rolling her eyes right now . She is little jealous of my dad's and mine  relationship. 

I was born 3 months early as a premature baby . Doctors said my parents not to keep high hopes about me cause I was so weak . But my dad didn't want to give up on me . After a long  prayers ,  6 months later they took me home as healthy baby even though I was fragile.  My dad started to call me his littlestar since then .

"Hello daddy " It's been 6 months since  I last see them . I miss them terribly but we need money .

"Littlestar , you okay baby girl ? You haven't called us for days now " I smiled hearing his complaints .

My dad Theodore Abbott . He was the strongest man until his accident which made him paralyzed and tied to his bed . He was in a coma for a year making all of us worried . My mother spend daytime taking caring of him and in the night she is taking her job as a nurse leaving my younger brother and sister to take care of my father . We lived in luxury until his accident which resulted my father's second to steal all of his business  and our house leaving us on streets . We came far away since those days.

"Sweetheart,  are you there ? "I snapped out of daydream hearing his deep voice .

"Yeah , dad . What did you say ? "

"Working troubles littlestar?  If I ever not trust that little shit head so much , you wouldn't have to work so hard . Daddy is sorry for making your life like this baby . " Every time he apologize my heart breaks in to pieces.  It's not his fault . Who would think his own brother would betray him snatch every penny from him leaving your brother's  family without any single dollar ?

"It's not your fault daddy, stop apologizing "I cried trying to silent my sobs not wanting answer if someone hears me. God knows how hard it was me to  open to Lyra about my struggling and it was because she didn't let me since the day she saw me in the canteen alone . She followed me like a lost puppy until I gave up and agreed to become her friend .
