"And you may fancy yourself and think yourself strong. But," I read "The Picture of Dorian Gray" aloud as (Y/n) lies in my arms, listening. "A chance tone of color in a room or morn- (Y/n)?" I stop my reading upon hearing the soft snores from the lovely woman beside me.

Averting my eyes away from the book and down at the amazing woman (I have to admit) I love, I see her eyes closed while slow, peaceful breaths emit from her slightly parted lips. I feel the corners of my lips upturn in a smile involuntarily before standing up and taking (Y/n) into my arms, her head instantly resting against my shoulder.

Once we end up in my room, I lay her down on my bed while pulling the covers up to her chin and pressing my lips to her forehead in a small kiss. As soon as I change out of my clothes, I pull back the covers and lie next to (Y/n) in the bed. Once she feels the new source of warmth next to her, she rolls over and cuddles into my side, throwing her leg over my two and wrapping her arms around my torso so I can't leave the bed. Softly smiling, I place my hand on her head, beginning to speak to her as if she were awake.

"You never want me to leave, do you?" I ask her, knowing I won't be receiving a response from (Y/n) anytime soon. "That's okay," I tell her, leaning forward and kissing her forehead. "I never want you to leave either."

After a few minutes of trying to fall asleep, I find myself wide awake with the urge to talk; however, I don't want to wake (Y/n) up to pour my heart out to her - I just want to speak and not care if I'm heard or not. It's like my mind palace is too crowded and this is my emergency option of going over things without having another mental breakdown.

"I don't know what it is as I've never felt this way before," I start, looking down at (Y/n) to make sure she's still asleep. Once I see her closed eyes and relaxed face, I resume speaking. "But I'm happy I have you. And I'm even happier that it's you who's my partner. Never in a million years would I expect such sap to come through my lips, but you... you have changed that."

I smile while moving her hair to the side of her face, my fingers grazing over the warm and soft skin of her cheek as I do so. "I'm glad you fell asleep in my arms tonight," I state, now feeling my eyelids begin to fall. "I love it when you spend the night. I get to... I get to see you as soon as I wake up..." my brain decides that I have talked enough for the night as the feeling of exhaustion comes over me in a matter of seconds.

Laying my head next to (Y/n)'s, I let out a soft sigh before ultimately succumbing to sleep. Although, as soon as I enter into unconsciousness, I can swear I hear (Y/n)'s voice. "I'm glad I get to see you in the morning too, Sher," I hear her angelic voice, her words slowed down from sleep. "And for the record, I love having you for a partner too."
