Twenty Eight

"Dabi, can we just turn around and go home?"

Yuuki's leg bounced up and down multiple times as she sat in the passenger side of the car. Dabi smirked slightly and shook his head, remaining silent.

Yuuki released a groan of disappointment and slouched in the seat, her fingers turning the black ring on top of her finger. She looked out the window, her eyes skimming the houses that laid next to each other. She tapped the window and spoke.

"We should get a house," Yuuki declared, turning her eyes to look at Dabi.

Dabi shook his head in response, "Not yet. Its only one child, we've got two rooms," He stated.

A smirk grew on Yuuki's lips as she turned to look at him, "Oh? So you're saying there will be more than one?" She teased, watching her brother's house go past time

Dabi grinned slightly and shrugged his shoulders, "Not necessarily, but I'm saying that for the time being, its just one child," He responded.

"Can I give you some advice?" Yuuki grinned.

Dabi sent her a confused glance, "Sure,"

"Turn around, we passed the house," She informed, jerking her thumb back towards the house.

A curse left Dabi's lips as pulled over, making a U-turn right afterwards. Once he pulled into the driveway, Yuuki unbuckled the seat beat. She turned her head to look at Dabi, only to see him leaned against the steering wheel with his eyes closed.

"You okay?" Yuuki asked, leaning over the console to look at him.

Dabi leaned back and nodded his head, "Yeah," He rasped out, "I just get carsick easily,"

Yuuki cocked a brow at him, a small smile on her lips, "So that's why you walk everywhere," She stated.

Dabi nodded his head before looking up towards the house. Yuuki sighed quietly and opened the door, Dabi following her lead.

"You don't have to met them, you know," Yuuki attempted to change his mind one last time as they walked up towards the door.

"Its to late to turn around now," Dabi chuckled quietly.

Yuuki let out a childish whine as they walked up the small staircase. She rose her palm up, banging loudly on the door. Yuuki scooted backwards, grabbing a hold of Dabi's hand and waiting silently for the door open. After about ten seconds of silence the door flung open reveling Gorouko standing there with a large grin plastered onto his face.

"Hey stranger," He greeted, turning his eyes to look at Dabi.

Yuuki offered him a tight lipped smile, rising her free hand to rub her neck, "Hey," She mumbled, "This is-"

"I know who he is," Gorouko interrupted, moving to the side to allow then inside, "His face was plastered all over the news a few months ago...uh, Dabi. Right?"

"Yeah," Dabi replied.

Yuuki held his hand as they walked inside the house, her eyes darting around the living room before looking towards her brother, "So uh, where is everyone?" She asked.

"The backyard with Hiro," He informed, "Uh, I'm Gorouko, Yuuki's older brother," He spoke towards Dabi.

Gorouko led them towards the backyard. Yuuki glanced over at Dabi, seeing the rather bland look on his face. She tugged at his hand, earning his attention.

"How are we going to tell them?" She whispered quietly.

Dabi shrugged in response, "Just tell them," He mumbled back.

Yuuki frowned, narrowing her eyes as they walked back outside, "Shit, do you have my sunglasses?" Yuuki asked, turning her head away from the car.

"Its in the car," Dabi released her hand, "I'll go get them for you,"

Yuuki nodded her head as he turned around and headed off. She turned back around and slowly approached the group of adults outside, rubbing her arm nervously. The first person to notice her arrival was her mother, Kono.

"Yuuki, you made it," She sent a dry smile, "Where have you been?"

"Oh," Yuuki turned her head at the sound of footsteps approaching, spotting Dabi with her sunglasses, "Uhm, I've been busy with doctor appointments and work," She informed, grabbing the glasses from Dabi and sliding them over her eyes.

"Doctor appointments?" Kono repeated, surprise glimmering in her orbs, "Who's this?" She asked.

Yuuki's cheeks started to turn red, "Th-this is Dabi...my uh..fiancé," She informed, looking away from the group.

Kono let out a small gasp, her eyes widening, "When did you get engaged, sweetheart?!" She asked, "Why did you bring him to meet us earlier?"

"I travel a lot for my part of the job," Dabi butt in, "We've both been pretty busy," He dismissed the question calmly.

"Oh, well, its lovely to meet you, Dabi. Now, you need to meet your nephew," Kono nodded towards a Latino woman holding a baby close to her.

"Baby," Gorouko began, grabbing the woman's attention, "This is my sister, Yuuki. Yuuki this is my girlfriend, Elena,"

"Hi," Yuuki greeted.

"Hi, I've heard so much about you. Its great to finally be able to meet you," Elena responded with a warm smile.

Yuuki glanced over her shoulder towards Dabi, seeing him and her father, Zabuko, had dived into a conversation. She turned back around to face Elena, taking a seat in front of her.

The two girls engulfed into a conversation while everyone settled down into comfortable groups. Yuuki had been hesitant to hokd her nephew, as she had never been good with kids. The conversation went of for what felt like hours.

"So, Yuuki," Elena began, "Are you pregnant?" She questioned, a small smile on her lips.

Yuuki's eyes widened in panic at the question and nervously laughed, rubbed her neck, "H-How did you know?" She stammered out.

Elena let out an excited gasp, "Oh! It was just a hunch. You kind of have this..glow to you," Elena explained, "Does he know?"

Yuuki nodded her head, "Yeah, we just sort of found out,"
