Prologue

Cold lights.

That was all she knew.

Then an unknown noise.

A lift.

She pushed herself from the iron floor and leaned to one of the cage-like sides of the lift. She could make out a moving wall behind the metal one, disappearing beneath her into a black abyss. She was travelling upwards, she knew that much.

The girl turned and lay on her back, numb.

But wait, a feeling at last! Pain - in her side. She brushed her hand against the feeling and her fingers returned to her face painted...red. Blood.

She could hear her heart beat in her ears as the panic set in.

Her fingers trembled.

And all too soon her world faded to black.
