No one had come into see Jax today.

Not even Jessica.

I wonder if he's even here today.

I didn't see him walk in or walk out.

The elevator dinged.

I panicked and threw the taser into a drawer.

The elevator opened and Nick walked out.

"Hey Nick." I greeted then yawned.

"Let me guess he hasn't come out of his office."

"Yeah. I didn't even know he was here."

"He pulls all-nighters when he's nervous about something."

"Well go  in and talk to him. If he's nervous you're probably the only person he'll want to see."

"You're right." He walked into the office.

Nervous?

What do Multi-million CEO's even get nervous about?

The think they're on top of the world.

Like they have nothing to loose.

So what's wrong with Jax?

Jax's POV

I was pacing back and fourth in my office.

No, no, no.

Nothing is ready.

Everything is going wrong.

One of the servers got sick and got three other servers sick.

The chef has not prepared enough food for the gala.

And on top of that I can't find my favorite suit.

The door to my office opened.

Nick walked in and closed the door behind him.

"Did you sleep?" He asked like a mother.

"No."

"Is it the gala this weekend?"

"Yes." I groaned.

I sat at my desk and laid my head down on it.

"Every year you go through the same routine."

"What's your point?" My voice was slightly muffled.

"Every year you go through the same routine and it ends up the same."

I lifted up my head. "What should I do then?"

"Spice it up a bit. Add something different. I'm sick of the same thing every year."

"How?"

His face stayed blank for a moment.

His eyes widened and he snapped his fingers. "Fire preformers!"

"Get the hell out."

"Admit it. You like the idea." He smirked.

Before I could respond there was a knock at the door.

Jade walked in.

"Hey guys, there's someone here with a package, which I thought was weird since we have a mail room." She said.

"Who brought it?" I asked while standing up.

"He looked like a regular delivery man."

"Bring it in."

"That doesn't seem like a good idea."

"Just bring it."

She went out and came back with a box.

She set it down on my desk.

She took out a pocket knife and tore the tape on the box.

She opened the flaps of the box.

"Guys." Jade said terrified.

"What is it?" I asked cautiously.

"It's..." She pulled out the object in the box and turned to us. "Chocolates!"

Jade was holding a red heart shape box.

"Did you have to say it in a scared voice!?" Nick asked.

"Yes, it was necessary for the situation." She smirked.

She kept digging around the box and kept pulling out candy and gifts.

"How many admirers do you have?" She asked me.

"I don't know, just put everything back and dump it out."

"Alright." She put everything in the box except the chocolates. "But I'm keeping these."

She walked out of the office carrying the box in one hand and the chocolates in the other.

Jade's POV

After I dumped the box out, I came back to my desk.

I set down the box of chocolates and opened it up.

If Jax doesn't want it then I'll gladly take it.

Maybe I'll save some for Katie.

I grabbed one of the chocolates and cracked it in half.

I caught a whiff of the soft chocolate scent.

But something was off.

I caught a whiff of something else.

It's was too familiar to me.

Poison.

It was inside the filling of the chocolate.

Someone tried to poison Jax.

And they weren't very clever.

I doubt Jax ever opens up fan mail.

But I'm guessing the guy who delivered it knew about it.

I'll tell Jax about it tomorrow.

When I saw him he looked exhausted and stressed.

I closed the box of chocolates and dumped it into the trash chute.

Does this happened a lot?
