I threw my phone on the bed and padded down the stairs to where my family was having dinner. I sat in my seat and smiled at my parents and my sister. Ashton was sitting by my feet, hoping that I'd drop so food. I laughed and turned back to my family.

"So, that Ashton kid seems pretty nice," my dad said nonchalantly.

"Yeah, he is," I mumble, picking at my food.

"I might like him better than that Luke kid," my mom laughed. I looked up at her in disbelief.

"Yes, but I'm not dating Ashton, I'm dating Luke, and I've been dating Luke for a year," I forced a smile and looked from my dad, to my sister, and then to my mom.

"I know, I just think Ashton's a little more polite and friendly," my mom shrugged.

"That's why I'm friends with him, if I wanted to date him I would, but I don't want to. I want to date Luke," I said quickly, stabbing my chicken with a fork.

"Luke kind of seems like a heart breaker to me," my dad pointed out, I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You were really upset because of something he did earlier this year," Molly pointed out.
