Chapter 22

GARY'S P.O.V.

I saw him stilled as he say my name. I looked at him showing no emotions.

"Have a seat...Keji." He looked around before sitting. Kaming dalawa lang ang narito sa area na ito. Approximately 15 meters away na ang susunod na customer. I asked for it anyway. I called the waiter because honestly, nafefeel ko yung tension. I don't know kung ano ang matatawag ko sa nararamdaman ko ngayon. Sari-sari. Pag-aalala, galit, inis at...tuwa? Magsisinungaling ako sa sarili ko kung hindi ko aaminin na namiss ko siya at natutuwa akong may pagkakataon kaming dadalawa na lang ngayon. Mahirap bigyan ng kahulugan ang mga bagong pakiramdam na ito sapagkat napakagulo pa ng sitwasyon. Right now, all i want is to make my family and him safe. I know this isn't really my battle neither he is. But we are involved. Well, if they only knew na ako nga ang tunay na Ariela.

"What's your order, Sir?" He gave us the menu.

"Let's eat first Keji bago ko sagutin ang mga tanong mo." I told him without looking at him. I can't handle his gaze at this moment. I saw him sighed before telling his order. Sumunod naman ako pagkatapos niya. Nang kaming dalawa na lang ay bumalik ang kaba sa dibdib ko ngunit hindi ko pinahalata. Today, he'll know some of my story.

"Where's Marco? Why are you here?" I'm expecting him to ask this question the momebt he saw me. I'm about to answer him pero dumating na ang order namin.

"Let's eat first." He sighed. I started eating at nakita ko rin siyang nagsimula na. Sometimes, he's looking at me but I don't look back at him. I really can't met his eyes--those chocolate brown eyes that are full of emotions I can't name.

"Marco is having a date with his family right now." We're done eating and now we have our wine. May pailan-ilan na lang na customers at mostly ay hindi namin sila makita sa anggulo namin.

"Who are you, Gary? What's your connection with Marco? Why did you accept my offer as my bodyguard? Why are you protecting me?" This time, I looked at him. There's no emotion evident on his face.

"I am Gary. I am the mysterious Chef of KID. I own the Peraismos. I am not poor. I hid those things because I am not yet ready to show myself in the business world. I accepted your offer as your bodyguard to have connections." His brows creased. "Natatandaan mo ba noong sinabi ko sa iyong namatay ang ama ko dahil sa politiko? He's working before under Eduardo and Ma'am Suzanne. Gusto kong hukayin lahat ng sagot na nilibing nila kung bakit namatay ang ama ko. Palihim siyang minamanmanan dahil she's still oblivious about what's happening since kinuha sa kaniya lahat ng maaaring gawin niyang communication. I know these things kasi sinabi ni Noah sa akin. That group, Phi. They want to gain more powers. The leader is very obsessed with Ma'am Suzanne. And anothe syndicate group wants Ma'am Suzanne dead. This chaos is all because of over love that turns into obsession. Very deadly." He's just looking at me all the time.

"Fuck... This is too much. Now where's the real Ariela? Do you know where she is? Is she still alive?" I can see longing in his eyes. He sounded so hopeful. "Mas mabuti ng wala kayong alam tungkol sa kaniya ngayon. She's safe. I'm sorry, I can't tell you where she is. Delikado kapag may makaalam kung nasaan siya. Sa kaniya mapupunta ang atensiyon ng dalawang grupo. Pag-aagawan siya, para makuha si Ma'am Suzanne." I won't let that happen. Dahil ako ang titigil sa buhay ng mga grupong nanakit sa ina ko at mga mahal ko sa buhay.

"Damn it! I can't do anything..." Hinilamos niya ang mukha niya. He's frustrated. Suddenly, he looked at me. I was shocked when he hold my hand. He caught me offguard. "Gary, promised me one thing... Please stay alive. Please be safe. Sabay-sabay ang naging problema ko and I want myself to be the one who will protect you, I can't. You are important to me. But you know nanpalaging kapahamakan an nakapaligid sa akin. I promise na magiging ligtas ako. I have connections na nakalimutan kong gamitin dahil sa... Sa mga nangyari. I don't know. I am not like this. Until that night that I met you. That moment I kissed you..." Bigla akong napatayo sa sinabi niya. No he can't be. Tumayo rin siya. He said. He loves me. I smiled. Ever since, ako lang talaga. A tear escaped on my eye. I'm happy. I hold his hand tighter at lumapit sa kaniya. I felt him stilled.

"I know." And pressed my lips on his kasabay ng hapdi na naramdaman ko sa likod ko. I smiled on his lips. Kaagad niya naman akong sinalo nang maramdaman ang pagtumba ko sa kaniya. He's shock. I heard shouts nang may mga putukan. I think my people are now killing the opponents.

"G-gary... Hey... Don't sleep. Hey... Shit! Gary look at me." Nagmamakaawa niyang sabi. I smiled. I looked at him. The pain is inviting me to sleep.

I touched his cheeks. Namumula na ang mga mata niya.

"S-sorry... I- I can't be safe l-like what you want... One thing is I am s-sure right now. You are not gay Keji. You are not. Maiintindihan mo rin ako soon..."

"H-hey Gary. I'll bring you to the hospital. Don't close your eyes please! Damn it! Gary!"

"I love you too, Keji..." I whispered before everything went black.
