" what are you doing here? "
i asked natasha in no more then a
whisper.

" my mum moved back here after my
dad and her got a divorce. i chose
her over him and well, here i am. "
she said.

" well i'm glad you are. " i said in a sarcastic tone turning my attention
back to my form.

the half hour in hell had finally
come to an end and we rushed out
of homeroom towards our next
lesson.

there i was, sat in biology. my
mind mainly focused on the symbol
equation of photosynthesis when my
phone in my pocket vibrated.

i glanced at the message but
didn't reply like i normally do.
i hadn't spoken to the group chat
for a while.

another one came through and
another one. i turned my phone
onto scilent blocking out the world
when my lab partner anna turned to
me.

" are you - "

" i'm fine " i accidentally snapped
stopping her from finishing her
sentence.

the bell rang and i quickly
packed up my books. i scurried out
of the classroom and met josh at
the front gate like i did everyday.

*

i walked through the door and
chucked my keys into the key pot.

reaching for my phone in my
pocket, i found a large collection of
messages from the chat. scrolling
past the endless amount of messages,
memories of england and all my
friends start to flood back.

" hey honey. " i hear my mum
call as i entered the kitchen.

" hi. " i say in no more than
a whisper.

i placed a kiss on her cheek
and headed towards my bedroom.

i stared at my phone again reading
all the messages. do i reply? do i
ignore it?

i haven't really been talking to
them much after i found out. i haven't
been on social media. the only people
i have texted and spoken to are
josh and my parents.

staring at the texts again, my
thumbs hover over the keypad. there
was no movement in my body to
be found. i just lay on my bed staring
at my phone.

until i started to type for the first
time in a while.
