Anne's P.O.V
"Beep beep, beep beep, beep beep, beep beep." Anne's alarm was going off. "Oh for heavens sake Anne! Why do you have an alarm for the morning if you can't even wake up to it!" Marilla stomped into Anne's room frustrated, turning on her light. "Sorry Marilla. No! No! Turn the light off, it's a burden to my eyes! Can you just turn it off and let me sleep for 5 more minutes? I'll get up in a jiffy and be ready before you know it!" Anne said trying to convince Marilla. "No! You will get up now and that's final. Go downstairs and eat some breakfast. Right when you're done I want you back up here getting ready. Understood?" Marilla firmly stated. "Understood." Anne said rolling her eyes. Marilla sighed and went back into her own room, preparing herself for work.

"No get up now blah blah blah." Anne said groaning. "Why is the world against me this morning?" She sighed. Anne put on her favorite fox slippers and slumped downstairs. "Well good morning Anne." Matthew chuckled. "Good morning, why are you laughing at me?" Anne questioned. "Oh nothing." Matthew chuckled harder. Anne ran to the mirror and looked at herself. "Really" she hissed. Her hair was frizzy and knotted, her shorts were backwards and her shirt was inside out. "How does this even happen!?" She yelled. Anne quickly grabbed herself a plate with waffles, bacon, and eggs, while stomping to the back door. "I'm eating outside, I've barely been awake and this house is already cursing my soul." Anne stated, as she strutted to the back yard. Matthew gave another light chuckle, and continued reading the newspaper in his hand.
Anne was sitting at the table in their backyard, munching on her breakfast while talking to her most favorite tree of all. "I wish I was a tree, I know I always say that to you, but you're so extraordinary to me. The way your emerald green leaves shine in the sun and lightly flow with the wind, the way your chocolate trunk firmly stands in the depths of the earth. You're calm and accepting, but you also firmly stand your ground. I admire that, and I admire you dear tree. You've lifted my spirits a bit this morning, and I thank you for that." Anne finished her breakfast and gave the tree a quick hug before running back inside to get ready for school.
Once Anne got up to her room, she took off her pajamas and put on the outfit she picked out last night. She sat at her desk, grabbing her small round mirror and her makeup. Even though Anne hated her freckles she still didn't like covering her face with makeup. Too much makeup made her uncomfortable, and she got lots of compliments for her freckles when she went out which gave her the slightest bit of confidence. She put on a few coats of mascara, brushed out her eyebrows, applied a light coat of blush, some highlighter, and a thin coat of clear gloss to her lips. "Not too bad." Anne giggled. Anne's hair grew very long since the last year when she cut it off. She brushed it out and straightened it a bit just to make it look less frizzy and more silky. She was going to wear her hair down but it was going to be quite hot so she decided to put her hair up in a high ponytail, pulling two small pieces of hair out right by her ears. She grabbed her backpack which was printed with ever so many colorful flowers, it made her feel like she was still outdoors, even when she was in a secluded classroom. She took her phone, and headphones in hand and bolted downstairs. She quickly put on her shoes and ran to the kitchen to fetch her lunch. "Thank you so much Marilla for this delightful lunch! I will enjoy ever last bit of it! Oh and you bought me mini smoothies? You know me so well! Have the most dashing day at work Marilla, same for you Matthew! Love you both." She cheered. Marilla and Matthew both looked at each other chuckling and shaking their heads.
Anne walked out the door locking it behind her, and started her way to Diana's house. Diana was only 3 houses down from Anne so it wasn't much of a walk at all.
"Anne!" Diana yelled running out of her house. "Diana!" Anne yelled back. They both hugged each other as if they haven't seen one another in century's. After they hugged they went on their way, walking to school together. "Aren't you excited Anne! We're going into sophomore year, I can't believe it! Time truly flys, it feels like we were freshmen just yesterday." Diana said. "I know! It's insane Diana, I can't believe it. You look absolutely stunning this morning." Anne smiled. "Look at you Anne! I'm so lucky to have a bright, beautiful and imaginative friend like you. I'm glad we get to enjoy this new journey in our lives together." Diana laughed. "Same to you." Anne laughed.

"Finally we're here." Diana cheered. "Here goes nothing." Anne said. Diana and Anne linked arms, and started their way into school. Oh god, Anne thought to herself. Of course he's the first person I have to see. "Look who's back, how many stupid big words are we going to hear you say this year Shirley?" Billy teased. "Stupid!? Big words are marvelous, they are special and allow me to express how I truly feel. They're spectacular, and I will continue to use ever so many this year and in the years to come." Anne scoffed. "Go back to the 1800's." Billy laughed, highfiving his friends. "The words you speak are flumadiddle." Anne huffed. Anne rolled her eyes and strutted away with Diana, smirking at Billy's confused look. She loved it when people didn't know what the words she said meant, it made her feel smarter.
Two of Anne's classes were combined classes, so both sophomore and seniors were in class together. It was her Science and English class.
"Two of my classes are combined ones, what about you Diana." Anne asked. "Two of mine are as well, English and science." Diana stated. "Wait- Diana!!! We have science, English, and French together!" Anne cheered. "Yay!!! I'm so glad we at least have 3 classes together, I couldn't bare not seeing you everyday." Diana said. "Me too." Anne replied. They both hugged each other in excitement, walking to their first class together. Anne had math first and so did Diana, but they had separate teachers. They got to Diana's class first and said their goodbyes. Anne continued walking to her class when she saw a familiar figure ahead of her, Leaning against the lockers and talking to a few people. Her heart stopped for what seemed like forever, she was frozen, and she couldn't seem to move. "Snap out of Anne." She whispered to herself. She quickly gathered her self up again, speed walking past the person so they wouldn't see her. And luckily they didn't.
(Math class)
Anne walked into her math class and took a sit right in the front. "Nerd." A boy said while chuckling. Anne rolled her eyes. "Ok everyone seems to be seated. I'm Mr. Smith, and I'm going to be your math teacher for this year. I will start by taking roll, and then afterwards we'll do a few activities to get to know one another." Mr. Smith stated. Anne knew no one in her Math class, but she had a positive outlook on it and figured she'd at least make one new friend.
(Anne's class schedule)
1st period: Math advanced Mr. Smith
2nd period: French Mrs. Lefebvre
3rd period: History Mr. Martin
4th period: P.E. Mr. Moore
5th period: English advanced (Language Arts) Ms. Stacey
6th period: Science Ms. Stacey
"How was math?" Diana asked. "It wasn't bad at all, everyone was pretty nice except for the fool who called me nerd." Anne replied. "They are a fool alright, nobody calls my friend a nerd." Diana hugged Anne's arm. "Ready for French?" Diana questioned. "Oh Diana, I know you're ready! You speak perfect French, I know no one more exquisite at it than you." Anne smiled. "Thank you so much Anne, don't worry you'll learn swiftly." Diana assured. "I sure hope so." Anne sighed.
Diana and Anne actually had a fun time in French together. Their teacher was very nice and so were all the students, Anne got lots of compliments on her red hair. She may learn to love this class. History and PE were nothing interesting, they basically did the same thing in these classes, like getting to know eachother better and introducing yourself. But it was finally time for lunch, the best part of the entire school day.
(Lunch time)
"Oh finally it's lunch time! I've been waiting these drastically long hours just to see what Marilla had packed me for lunch." Anne giggled. "We should go find a table." Diana laughed. "Wait! I see Ruby and the other girls over there! Let's go sit with them." Diana cheered. The girls rushed over to the table with the brightest smiles on their faces, ready to see their bosom friends once again. Ruby, Tillie, and Jane leaped up from the table in joy. Running towards them as well. They all embraced each other in the most splendid hugs. Josie pie rolled her eyes and sat with a different group of girls. "Nice to see you back Shirley." Josie pie Said sarcastically. All the girls rolled their eyes and went back to their table ignoring Josie pie's unnecessary comment. "Have you guys seen Gilbert Blythe! Oh how he's matured since the past school year. He's gotten more masculine, his curls are the most perfect ones I've ever seen. What a beautiful boy." Ruby said, daydreaming. All the girls laughed it off and started talking about how their days were so far. They found out that they all had Science and English class together which gave them a great thrill. "I can't believe we all have English and Science class together and it's also taught by Ms. Stacey!" Tillie cheered. "I'm so excited." Jane exclaimed. "Me as well!" Ruby chuckled. "As am I" Diana assured.
"What could be better." Anne smiled.
All the girls giggled in excitement, enjoying the rest of lunch time, ready to see what joy 5th and 6th period would bring to them...
