.Rise and Fall. (43)

Start from the beginning

"Nicky, I really missed this place. I remember last time we came here, we were like eight", Stella started with her sweet like honey voice as she rubbed his arm. "Uncle Black did a cool job building this house here."

So the Black family own this property. Why am I not surprised?

"Yeah he did. Do you want to see the room we shared or the one we are still going to share tonight?", he spoke for the first time since he arrived. Gosh! I missed his voice. But that question alone was enough to bring tears in my eyes. She really is special to him.

"Hey, let's go and check out the river?", Salvor asked. I nodded my head impatiently like I need to be out of here right now. But before I could even take a step.

"Nobody move from this place until we are all settled down", Nick yelled to which others agreed.

"He's just being bossy again. Don't worry we can still go", Sal whispered to me.

"He's right we should take our stuffs out and arrange it first."

.

This is the worst thing about this place. Just when we started to put the tents on, it started raining and very hard if I may add.

The team was relaxing near the fire place in the living room while I found my spot inside the kitchen. Zac and Sarah were nowhere to be seen. I was surprised when I opened the frigde and saw all the necessary items stuffed in it. And they were all fresh. I mean, the house looks like no one stayed here for months. Maybe Nick must've done that afterall he owns this place, I thought.

I looked up from cutting the sides of the bread, there he was paying no attention to what the boys kept hollering over but busy sliding his fingers through his phone. There was a slight frown on his face and he looked stressed. 'Hate' is just a word I use to escape the reality of missing him and not really what I feel for him. I can never hate him.

Bringing my attention back to the bread, I continued preparing the sandwiches. After I have made enough for all of them, I put it on a tray and take over to where they were sitting.

"Here you go", I placed it on the table.

Without wasting a second they attacked it like hungry animals. I smiled at that.

"Serena you're the best", Mason said passing me his toothy grin.

"Thank you", I said politely.

"Man I was dying to taste this from the moment I saw Nick craving them on the lunch table that day", Ian said. I remember him trying to take and Nick slapping his hand away. That made me look at his way only to find him already staring at me.

"Eww. You put way too much cheese in here", Kathleen complaint scrunching her nose.

"No. Its really good actually", to my surprise Alex admitted which only earned him a glare from his girlfriend.

"Yeah. Stop complaining and don't eat then, I have enough space for that one demon", Jason scoffed. I think he really don't like her.

"What did you just call me?" She stood up.

Jason chuckled. "Devon? Isn't that your last name?"

"But you just sai..."

"Babe he's just being his usual self. Leave it", Alex interrupted pulling her back.

"Jerk", she sniggered.

Surprisingly, I saw Nick take one. I was so happy and felt like jumping around the place like a little kid but somehow restrained myself. Then my happiness crumbled down into pieces when I saw him giving it to a very busy Stella who was having an heated conversation with Sasha that she didn’t even notice the food. She smiled lovingly at him taking it. He really cared about her. I felt my eyes welling up again. So I rushed back inside the kitchen.

Ignoring the pang of pain I was feeling inside my heart, I started to clean up. I was in the middle of washing the dishes when my phone started ringing. And guess who? Kevin, the great drama queen. Maybe he can light up my mood a bit.

I kept the phone on the loudspeaker as I continue washing the plates.

"Hey babe, how you doin'?", he said trying to sound sexy. I can imagine his face and start cringing.

"I'm fine Kevin. Where is Mary?"

"Mary is busy getting rid of her little lamb. Lately, it's been following her everywhere."

I laughed at that.

"No seriously where is she?"

"Having a hard time with her customers since you're not here."

"I feel so bad", I sighed.

"Babe don't worry just have fun. I'm here to help her out anyway", he said.

"I know I just..."

"miss me? I knew it from the moment I saw you in the club you're the one for me Olivia. Don't worry once you come back I'll take you to the place where I lost my favourite underwear. Our special little date", he finished.

I laugh again. What's with this guy and his underwear?

"No I just don't want to be here. I wish I never came though", I admitted washing the last plate.

"What's wrong? Do you want us to go there and pick you up tomorrow morning the first thing?", he asked concerned making me all happy again. They were the sweetest people. I know them for so short period of time yet we have bonded so well. I've really became close with Mary and Kevin in a way I never thought.

I rubbed my hands in a towel before taking the speaker off and bringing it to my ear.

"I don't really want to bother you guys, plus I have my car. But lets see. I'll tell you if I want to leave", I heaved out the air.

"Just one call and we'll be there."

"Alright l...", I turned around and my words got stuck in my throat when I saw Nick standing in front of me. His hand grabbing the water bottle to the extent of crushing it.

"Serena? You there?"

"Yeah I.. I .. call you later", I hesitantly said still looking at him. He looked like he wants to kill someone. And I wish that isn't me.

"Okay. Take care and remember I'm only one call away ", he sang the last part. If it was other time I'd have burst out laughing. But with a murderous looking Nick in the front, I just managed to hmm in reply before hanging up.

The next thing I know, he threw the bottle making me jump away from him. He ran his hands through his hair cussing profanities inside his mouth. Then he suddenly stopped and turn his cold gaze on me.

"Who is he?"
