|Chapter: 2|

"The beautiful blondie", my best friend, Sarah said as she walked into my kitchen, while I finished putting on my new pair of blue socks and I'm all ready to curl up in the living room couch, with blankets.

Its one of the week when mom is not returning home and I was about to crawl in my bed for the whole weekend. That is when Sarah, the saviour decided to come over to save me from another boredom attack and we planned to watch, 'A walk to remember'.

"No, he didn't", I said as I made myself comfortable on my couch with the blankets. This weather was really getting on my nerves. Cold is one of the things I can hardly bear and due to my low immune system I also catch cold super fast. Even after wearing so many layers of clothing, from socks to hand gloves, I need more clothes to cover my body. I have no idea how I'll even go school once it starts to snow.

"Yeah, that's how he described about you to mom. I think my twin brother is totally into you. But my best friend and my brother? That's gross." She made a funny face and plopped down on the couch with a bowl of popcorns in her hands.

I rolled my eyes at her dramatic ending as I took the remote to play the movie without any more delay.

Salvor, is her twin. Caring, sweet, the kind of guy your mother will wish you to date, or you could take home to. Perfect, is the perfect word to describe him. I kind of like him too because he always manages to make me smile more, laugh more whenever we are together. Both of us had the same dream to study in Yale. We were so much alike, from our likes to dislikes and everyone said we are 'perfect for each other' but who knows what the future holds. And, I wasn't ready yet to take such a step.

The rest of the movie we watched in complete silence. I didn't want to miss a single part of it, so did Sarah. Even after we have lost count of how many times we already watched it.

"You're such a crybaby", she commented getting out of the blanket and then the couch. I frowned at her for taking away the warmth. I didn't even notice I was crying until she mentioned.

"The movie is so beautiful. So, its worth it", I told her to defend myself as I hugged the warm blanket close. I knew she loves it too, everytime we watch but she is stronger compared to me when it comes to emotions. I could hardly keep mine in one place, and not scattered out.

"Not every single time you watch it."

I nodded my head at that. She is right. I need to stop being so crybaby all the time. Its like they are always ready to flow out of my eyes even at the slightest harsh word. I guess, I'm just too sensitive.

"So, you wanna stay the night?", I asked hoping that she'd say yes because I'm so fed of spending the nights alone in this house which feels more like a box with every single passing day. It feels so lifeless, and the place with this drowsy dark weather was doing no good.

"I wish I could. But mom said we to have attend a family dinner tonight. Sorry", she said with an apologetic smile.

I got up from the couch, "That's alright."

"Do you want some coffee and...", she only starts to say but immediately get cut off by her ringing phone in her pocket. She took it out and mouthed mom to me before picking up the phone. She nodded several times saying yeah, to her mom on the other side.

"Okay, I'll be there", she said before hanging up the phone with a bored sigh.

"What happened?", I asked.

"Mom said I've to get home like right now and help her to clean up the house before the guest arrives." She threw her hands in the air, fustrated. "You lucky, dummy."

"How am I?" I looked at her curiously.

"It's peaceful here and the hottest guy lives just next door to you."

"Those are the reasons why I consider myself unlucky, actually", I shook my head at her.

She patted my shoulder. "Sometimes try looking at things from positive perspective. Like..umm", she acted to be thoughtful, "What if Nickel walks out with only towel hanging low on his hips with a cup of coffee, and stretching just after he woke up?", she wiggled her eyebrows, playfully. I slapped her forehead.

"Ouch! What?!" She rubbed the place I hit.

"I don't want to have nightmares." He was no less than a nightmare for me and that scene will only drive my little sleep away.

She rolled her eyes scoffing. "Whatever you say dummy", she said walking to the door and put on her coat. The moment she opened the door, a cool winter breeze hit my body making me shiver. I rubbed my arms to generate some warmth.

Despite the cold weather and the soft drops of shower, I decided to walk her to the driveway. It was 4 in the evening but since its winter, its almost dark. Its been two week since the sun didn't rise in this part of the earth and I already miss it thinking about some more months without it.

"Take care. Call me, or Sal if you need anything", she said in a serious tone as she pull me in for a hug.

"Okay." I already miss her when she let me go. Then she got into her car and drove away. I turn around and started skipping towards my house because the longer I stay outside the more chances I have to catch cold.

But my steps slowly died down when I noticed the house next to mine. Again. His car and motorcylce were in the driveway which meant he was home but not a single light was on inside the house. So dark.

Then I looked at my house. So bright. We are like two different worlds. Yet we are next to each other. Always together. Why on earth does he of all the people has to be my neighbour? What kind of unfair game did destiny played with us?

Realising I was standing at the same spot for too long, I pulled myself out of my thoughts and started walking towards my house. The moment I stepped on my porch, I heard loud noise of things being thrown and even glasses breaking. I swapped my head to the direction of his house, the source from the commotion seemed to come.

"FUUCCCKKKK....!!", his voice came out in a loud scream, ringing to my ear and made me jump on my spot.
