Salam

Physically here

But my soul is longing to be over there

Above the skies, near You

I know that You are close

Closer to me than my own jugular vein

But my heart still yearns to be with You

To meet You and hopefully see You

As-Salam, The Ultimate Source of Peace

My Lord I ask You and Only You for Peace

Peace is one thing I cannot find in this destructive world

Peace is a blissful dream, but not far-fetched for a Mu'min*

That dose of peace is sincerely needed

Oh Lord I beg you

I beg you to forgive me and to aid me in my transition

From Muslim* to Mu'min

From Trying to Succeeding

So that I may taste Peace here

And indulge in it over there

Near You.

*Muslim= Submitter

*Mu'min = Believer

The difference between the two; Mumin is a higher level of faith than a Muslim.

I wrote this poem during a moment of hardship.

I was going through some difficulties and writing this particular poem lifted me up from my doom and gloom phase I was in at that time. Praise be to Allah.

I hope that you can connect with this poem, after all I am talking about the One and Only Creator to all  that exists.
