The twins knelt in front of the altar, position stiff as their father berated them in front of their elder brother.

"Both of you should have just reported to your eldest brother," Xu Patriarch crossed his arms in front of him. FengYin could feel his legs going numb.

Uu, when will this lecture be over~

"LongYue, what have I told you about being too rash?"

LongYue's head drooped, looking very apologetic. "I should never be rash..."

"And FengYin, the pills...?"

Glumly, he answered. "Don't ever attempt to feed someone my experimental pills..."

"If you want an experimental subject, my idiotic disciple would gladly volunteer for you."

The familiar voice made FengYin perk up. He would have stood up immediately, but the sharp warning glance from his eldest brother curbed the urge as soon as it came.

Instead, he only greeted the old man with a salute. "Master."

LongYue, not forgetting her manners, also followed suit. "Martial uncle."

"What have they both done now?" After receiving both of the twins' salute, Old Man Ruo turned to Xu Father and ZhongYi, asking them this question.

Xu Father sighed, bringing up a hand to massage his aching head. "They went and fought an intruder...."

"Ah? Isn't that a good thing?" Old Man Ruo raised a bushy white eyebrow. "Why are you punishing them?"

"That intruder was the young master of the Kun sect, and one of the inner disciples they sent to us." ZhongYi spoke up.

Old Man Ruo, who had been in closed-door cultivation, had not noticed the flow of time, and before long, three months had passed. He wasn't aware that the gathering would come so soon.

He then sighed, then faced FengYin. After a brief moment of thinking, he flicked FengYin's forehead. "You shouldn't act so rashly," Old Man Ruo scolded him, and FengYin ducked, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Rash actions should be left to those who practise martial cultivation."

"Yes...."

What is that supposed to mean, LongYue thought in her heart, but she didn't speak it out loud.

Xu Father sighed. Based on the situation, it could be said that the twins were not at fault. It was, in reality, the Kun Sect disciples who were at fault, and normally they would have punished them as they did to other trespassers, but ...

The ones who trespassed was the Sect Head's son and their sect's prodigy...

If he punished them it would cause a lot of interclan politics. He was not good with interclan politics.

He can only punish them by scolding them...

.....Like this, it was really a lot of trouble...

Sometimes he missed his wife.

Sighing, he returned to reality to talk more to his children.

The endless stream of scolding words spilled out of Kun LuoMu's mouth. As a good friend, naturally Wei Ling will ignore it.

"Because of you, we got caught!"

"Brother~" A young voice rang out, causing both of the young men to turn their heads towards the door. There stood Kun LuoMu's younger sister, Kun YanMu.

"YanMu," Kun LuoMu stiffly replied, fingers twitching. Wei Ling averted his gaze, turning to look out of the window instead. "What are you doing here?"

Kun YanMu blushed and fiddles with her fingers, embarrassment coating her cheeks. "Uhm, I-"

"Speak clearly!" Kun LuoMu frowned, and scolded her. Kun YanMu gave a miniscule flinch, and hesitantly peeked up to see what Wei Ling was doing.

Ahhh, that person is truly handsome!!! Her heart beating in a fast rhythm, she hurriedly tried to answer her brother's question. "I heard you shouting..."

"You should go to sleep," Wei Ling cut in when it seems as if Kun LuoMu was about to erupt again. "It's late. You need to get up early tomorrow."

"Uhm, I-" Kun YanMu glanced at her frowning brother, and wilted. "Okay..." She mumbled, feeling disappointed.

Wei Ling kept on a smile, until she went out of the room. Kun LuoMu breathed out a frustrated sigh, and slumped back on his bed.

"I don't know why she has a crush on you," Kun LuoMu broke the silence with a derisive snort. "You're rude and childish, and all the time you're just slacking off."

"I am very charming~" Wei Ling replied. "What do you think about the twins?"

"...Very terrifying." He couldn't help but remember the twin that had tried to force him to eat an unknown pill. However, he couldn't deny that the pill was a good one, judging by the sheen and the scent of it.

"Ah?" Wei Ling opened one of his eyes, and glanced over to his friend. "Just that?"

"Well, they are quite good-looking too-"

"Do you have a crush on them?" Wei Ling mocked a shocked gasp. "Kun LuoMu, how dare you! And even after all the years we've gone through together!"

Restrain your anger, restrain your anger... Kun LuoMu couldn't restrain it anymore, and he spat. "Nonsense!"

"What nonsense?" Wei Ling replied, tone of faux innocence. "If you like one of them, there's no harm, if you like both of them, there is also no harm!"

Kun LuoMu merely twitched, and threw a pillow towards Wei Ling. "Go to sleep, or I'll force you to!"

Wei Ling was about to retort, but seeing Kun LuoMu's enraged expression, decided not to. With a grin on his face, he settled down on his bed, and tried to sleep.

Before long, soft snores enveloped the room.
