Chloe's POV: Jack's over at my house, helping me play piano. I told Zach earlier. I don't like keeping secrets. He didn't seem happy about it, but he also knew there was no way I was gonna let him stop me from seeing my friend. ⁣

His silhouette is hunched over the piano, concentrated firmly on whatever notes he is playing. His hair is extra curly today, and it's kinda cute. Jack's long fingers dance over the keys with ease and he smiles at me as I sit down on the bench next to him. ⁣

"Here." He takes my fingers and spreads them over three keys and presses down. A sound rings out, a C chord. Jack leaves his fingers over mine and I'm filled with warmth. Not electricity, like it is with Zach, but a steady and comfortable feeling. He moves our fingers over different notes and quietly hums along. ⁣

"What are you singing?" ⁣

He looks at me. "You got a bad reputation in my neighborhood......" and chuckles. ⁣

"You drive me mad with temptation cause it tastes so good. I know I wouldn't walk away even if if could," I join in. ⁣

"It took, one night, one try...." He shakes his head and whispers. "Damn." ⁣

"I'm hooked." The air is thick with tension and I can feel him looking at me. I decide the best thing to do is ignore him, and I do continue to sing, my fingers flying over the keyboard as I get the hang of the chords. Jack sits back and watches me, a smile spreading across his face. ⁣

"You've got a pretty voice," he says after I finish. ⁣

"Thanks, Jack." The fuzzy feeling is back in my stomach. I'm not sure if I like it or not. He sees my face and the conflicted expression on it, mistaking for something else. ⁣

"I'm not lying, I swear! Would I lie to you?" ⁣

"I would hope not." I say. ⁣

"Seriously, you're really talented." He grows quiet and is suddenly very interested in his hands. I reach out and ruffle his hair affectionately. I try to move away and he catches my wrist with his hand, and his skin is pink, so very pink. We sit there, at the piano, neither one of us talking. The silence is comfortable, but he's still holding on to my wrist and I move my hand away. I don't know where to look, but I see the rose tattoo and focus my eyes there. He moves like he's going to cup my face, but I can't really tell for sure, and suddenly I can't, I just can't, it doesn't feel right, what about Zach? I stand up abruptly from the bench, almost knocking down all the sheet music in the process. He chuckles at my clumsiness, and the moment is over. Finished. Neither one of us mentions it again. ⁣

After hours of joking around and making music together, Jack starts to gather his handwritten notes with lyrics and packs his things. ⁣

"Leaving so soon? The night is still young," I say with a smirk on my face. ⁣

"Yeah, we've got a busy day packed with interviews tomorrow and I've got to get some rest. I'll take you up on that next time." He shoots me a cheeky wink and my face flushes. He grins deviously when he sees how nervous he's made me, and, giving one final wave, Jack steps out the door into the cold night air. ⁣

Once I know he's gone for sure, I let out a deep sigh and rest my head against the piano. My mind swirls with thoughts I can't place and my emotions are a complete mess. I throw my hands up into the air exasperatedly. ⁣

"What am I doing?" ⁣
