"Don't make me ask you again. Reach the deadline."

The owner of the corporation husked lowly down to you, standing back straight and adjusting his tie. He swept his icy blond hair from his eyes and fiddled with his small silver hoop earring with one hand in his pocket as he sauntered back to his secluded office. You ran a hand through your hair and huffed, puffing out your cheeks.

The boss was really piling on the pressure this week. You were struggling to keep up. Thinking that a simple office job would leave you with afternoons, evenings and weekends free turned out to be a huge misunderstanding. You had almost no time free and the pay wasn't great either. Why were you even still at that office?

"Ah, he's shoving more work on you again?" a voice sympathetically chirped in your right ear, swivelling around from their cubicle. You gave a half-hearted smile to the young man and faced him. He had tousled brown hair that fell into his eyes a little, a mixture between curly and straight and a huge boxy smile. He put a hand on your shoulder and squeezed reassuringly.

"Yeah, again. I don't know why he does it to me. There's plenty of other people in this damned office who have nothing to do," you moaned, kicking one leg over the other as you faced the man, raising an eyebrow at him. He pulled a face, tightening his neck muscles and looked away. He knew you were talking about him. Taehyung never had any work to do.

"Hey, the boss knows you're good at this stuff, so he gives to you. You always make deadlines. He knows I don't," he grinned cheekily, pushing the same shoulder he had squeezed just before. He turned back to his computer and started tapping away at the keyboard. You sighed once more and hunched back over your desk and just let your hands rest against the keys.

You lifted your head and looked into the glass office where the boss paced in his room. The blinds were drawn up and so you could see him walk back and forth around his room, one hand pinching at his lower lip, the other hand still in his pocket, and eyes kind of lost in thought. You watched him for a moment until his eyes lifted and met yours. He scowled and tugged hard on the strings of the blinds, causing them to collapse and shut himself out from the rest of the office.

You sighed and turned to the papers beside you. The boss, Min Yoongi, was cold and unfriendly, bluntly put. He constantly forced work onto you, out of all the people in the office and you had never seen a smile cross his lips, having worked at the office for over seven months. Other members of staff who'd been there longer hadn't seen him smile either.

"Hah... it's too much," you frowned and scratched your head hard, frustrated. Taehyung popped his head back around into your cubicle and smiled.

"Hand me some of those. I'll help you out."

"Really?"

"Yeah, but just this once. And don't tell anyone; they might start telling the boss and then I'll have to do real work," he winked. You rolled your eyes and laughed, heaving half the pile of papers into his hands. He lurched forward under the weight of the papers and let them thump onto his desk, casting you a sideways glance that told you he regretted his decision already.

You smiled cheekily, poking your tongue between your teeth and started working.

"Yah, are we done yet?" Taehyung stretched.

You let out a great huff of air and reclined in your swivel chair. It was dark outside, and the amber streetlamps cast a glow through the office. The shadows of computers and paper towels cascaded along the grey carpet floor. Only you and Taehyung were left; all the other employees had left, and the boss had shot you a cold stare before leaving too.

"I'm done, how about you?" you asked Taehyung. You leaned back in your chair and could still see a small pile of papers on Taehyung's desk. You half scowled, and he opened his mouth, looking between you and the papers, gesturing wordlessly and he cracked into a boxy smile. He hadn't finished. You too couldn't help but crack a smile and you stood up.

"Honestly, you've done more than enough to help me... we can leave it for tonight." Taehyung grabbed at the air and made a satisfied 'yes' motion and jumped up. He stretched, swaying from left to right and twisted his upper-body, picking up his coat hung over the back of his chair. He threw it over his shoulder and put his other hand in his pocket. You logged out of the computer and stood up, stretching up high too.

You picked up your bag and slung it over your shoulder. You picked up the remaining papers from Taehyung's desk and put them inside your bag. You both left the office and knocked the lights off, heading to the stairwell. You waved goodbye to the security guard who tipped his hat at you. Taehyung breathed in the cool outside air and wrapped an arm around your waist. You left his hand there but raised an eyebrow up at him. He shrugged and wiggled his head playfully.

"What're you doing?"

"Come on, we worked well today," he smiled. He hugged you closer to him as you walked down the street together. You let him hug you and leaned your head into his arm. True. You both had worked well today; Taehyung had worked well, considering his usual standard, and you had worked to your usual standard and finished your half of the work.

"Yeah... I mean, at least I finished my half!"

His mouth fell open, feigning offense, exaggerating. "Hey, I didn't have to help you! It was from the kindness of my heart!"

You pushed him a little and the pair of you stumbled and laughed. "I appreciate it. I'll finish it tonight, ready for tomorrow," you smiled.

Only, you didn't. And there were repercussions for not meeting deadlines.
