2-Jitter Better Café

Start from the beginning

"I ran out of the room and he hired me anyway. What did you do?"

"I slammed his face onto his desk."

Her eyes widened. "Well then. Never heard that one before."

"Yeah, I don't think he's hiring me any time soon."

A person walked by and stared at me.

"Mind your own business," I told the person.

They looked away and kept walking.

"I think you should get home and change." Katie said.

I looked down at my stained clothes. "Yeah. I guess so."

"Do you want to exchange members? To keep in touch?" She asked.

"Sure."

I handed her my phone and she handed me hers.

After I put my number in I gave her back her phone and she gave me back her phone.

"Well, I got to go." She said.

"Me too. Oh by the way, do you know any internet cafe's nearby?"

It is the next day.

I was in the café Katie told me about.

She said it was small but very popular.

I have been here for a while now and barely anyone has come in.

Maybe there's a drive-through.

But there was a lot a people when I first got here.

There were a few people inside.

I doubt anyone is going to come in any time soon.

It's almost noon and I'm still trying to finish my iced coffee.

I was at a small table next to the window

I had my laptop trying to search for a new job.

I'm actually glad there wasn't a lot of people here.

The Wi-Fi was slow during the morning rush but now it's going faster.

Another reason why the less the merrier is better.

The coffee shop was called Jitter Better Café.

(I made up that name even though its lame.)

I took a sip from my cup and set it down on the table.

The front door bell ringed but I didn't pay attention to the person who entered.

My attention was on my laptop screen.

A person walked by the table I was at and bumped into it.

I looked up from my computer screen.

My coffee cup fell on the floor.

"Hey!" I spoke.

The person turned around and saw what had happened.

"I am so sorry Ma'am." The person apologized.

They were wearing dark clothes, a black hat and very dark sunglasses.

That is really shady.

No pun intended.

The person grabbed a bunch of napkins and began cleaning it up.

I stopped them. "I'll get the rest don't worry."

"No. It's my fault. Let me buy you another one."

Ok I may sound paranoid

But I am not taking a drink from a stranger.

"No thanks."

The person took off his hat and sunglasses

He had green eyes and dark brown hair.

And he looked to be around my age.

"Let me buy you another one. It's really no trouble." He said.

"Just because you took off your hat I'm supposed to let you buy me a drink?" I said.

His eyebrows furrowed. "You don't know me?"

"Should I?" I asked.

He shook his head. "Nevermind forget that. Are you sure you don't mind me buying you a new drink?"

"I wouldn't say it if I wasn't."

"What was in that cup anyway?" He asked.

"Caramel white chocolate iced mocha with a hazelnut creamer. Why?"

"No reason." He walked away.

Well, that was creepy.

I shook off the odd feeling and turned back to my laptop.

He was strange but damn he was cute!

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone sit in front of me.

I looked up from my computer.

It was the guy again.

Except he had a cup tray with two medium drinks.

And one I recognize anywhere.

Caramel white chocolate iced mocha with a hazelnut creamer.

I closed my laptop.

"Why did you buy me a drink when I told you not to?" I asked.

"Because I spilled your last one." He smiled.

I glared. "That was a waste of money."

"I have plenty to waste." He mumbled to himself.

"I'm not even going to ask what that means."

He grabbed the drink and placed it in front of me.

"I am not going to drink that." I said.

"Why not?" He placed his hand over his heart. "I'm hurt."

I rolled my eyes. "I don't even know your name so how can I trust you?"

He held out his hand. "Hi, I'm Jax."

I looked at his hand then back at him.

"This would be the part where you tell me your name." He said.

I hesitated but took his hand.

"I'm Jade Holt."
