Also, this is a colorblind soulmate AU in which you see color only when you've met your soulmate. Until then, you can only see black, white, and grey.
Enjoy.

I breathed in the heavenly scent that invaded my lungs, my eyes closing shut in bliss as I felt that familiar smile sweep across my face.
Who knew a cinnamon bagel could make anyone feel this way?
"Well, for me, it does," I speak softly to myself, chuckling softly as I opened my eyes to devour the baked delight, the beautiful white, black, and grey shades everywhere my eyes could see.
The herbal tea that lays still on my table adds to the aroma and atmosphere as I also hear people bustling around in the small cafe, others like me sitting at the two-seat tables as they enjoy their goods and atmosphere.
"Delight as alwa-" I frown gently as I get cut off by a foreign voice.
"I want my bagel."
I turn my head at the voice, my head tilting as I watch the man with the slicked-back raven-black hair. Judging by his tone, he either had a rough day, or is just incredibly tired.
"I will choke you with that bagel if you don't give me my real damn bagel, you dick."
Bad day it was.
His, seemingly strong, hand slaps against the counter-top, the nervous employee quickly giving up the stubborn attitude to hand over his rightfully owned bagel. As he stands up fully, I can't help but notice the way his white dress shirt hugs him, seeing each muscle he has to show off almost perfectly.
"One hell of a show to see with that kind of man," I chuckle to myself, somehow managing to grab the attention of said male.
His back tenses up as he slowly turns, obviously annoyed and on edge from whatever happened previously in the day. The hand at his side moves to life as it's reached up to run through his hair, I once again can't help but notice the faint veins being seen traveling up his arm.
And then he turns around.
Instantly, my breath is taken away for two entirely different reasons.
My eyes travel up his practically carved jaw, my eyes widening as I notice an odd different shade appear over his skin. I slow down as I note the point of his nose, adorable yet alluring. Finally, his eyes.
Gorgeous gold-laced eyes.
I feel tears well up in my eyes as I notice his widen in turn, his hand reaching back to grab the counter in order to steady himself.
Others in the store turn to us, looking at us in confusion before smiling softly and turning away, everyone knew this type of occasion.
The occasion in which one meets their soulmate.
Your first glance at actual color.
Overwhelmed with the new sensation, I turn my eyes away, instead looking at an elderly couple watching us with a smile.
"Go ahead, dearie. This is the highlight of your life, don't let it pass you by."
A smile of thanks takes over my features as I look back towards the man, only to find him briskly walking towards me, his eyes searching mine as mine searched his.
"...H-Hello," I pathetically squeak out, a blush dusting over my cheeks. Of all things, this seems to be the one thing that finally puts a smile on the mysterious man's face, the corner of his eyes wrinkling as he did so.
"Hello," he whispers back to me, hesitantly reaching out his right hand in order to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear, "it's not very much like me to do this, but...well, you can come around my place if you want? I'd like to get to know you better, since you're my soulmate n'all."
"I'd love that," a giggle made its way from my throat as I gazed up at the mystery man, he, too, gazing back at me.
He once again reaches out his hand, offering it towards me with a smile and a tilt of his head. Taking in the scene around me, I appreciate the way his ebony-shaded hair contrasts with his gold eyes, the way it all seems perfectly crafted just for me.
And it was.
A match made to last forever.
To me, he put every other man to shame with his flawless attire, walk, look, and voice. And yet, I knew that every woman must think that once they've met their soulmate.
Who wouldn't think such a thing?
I slide my hand in his, our hands molding perfectly as we walk together out of the store, bagels and teas in hand.
Briefly flicking my hair over my shoulder, I can't help but get one last glance of the gorgeous looking man as we walk together.
All to myself.
I'm certainly one hell of a lucky girl.
