Just a quick side-note, this is an apocalyptic world au.
Enjoy.
______________
My eyes darted from the right to the left frantically, my mocha gaze shifting from the deserted road ahead of me, to the half-rotten beings pushing over each other to get to me.
And to think, this thing only started a month and a half ago.
'It was just an infection,' they said.
'We have a cure,' they said.
'It's easy to contain,' they fucking said.
Lies.
All of them.
It was only ever meant to be a test.
An 'upgrade'.
They should've left it be.
Rabies.
Of all things to start literal hell, it was rabies.
They were attempting to find a mutation to instantly cure it, instead of having to go back multiple times for shots when infected.
Shortly after that, a rivaling country sent in an undercover agent, or so I've heard, to steal research.
Turns out that spy was sent into the rivaling country by a small company hoping to get big with this research. When the rivaling country heard about this, they killed the spy before he could return to the country.
They didn't want anyone hearing of what happened.
Turns out, they missed with the first shot.
The first shot hit one of the dials the spy was holding, the liquid clattered to the floor along with the spy.
He died instantly, but fell right into the liquid the dial once held.
Now, the scientists working on the research had hoped to inject a few "cleansing" bacterium into the rabies virus itself thinking that they could potentially make an instant cure.
It was supposed to stop itself before brain inflammation occurred.
Repair tissue.
It repaired the tissue alright, but the research wasn't done.
It wasn't finished.
It wasn't perfected.
When the liquid mixed with the blood of the late spy, it shot into his bloodstream, and to his lifeless brain.
You must be thinking that, if it had a healing agent, why are the people rotting behind me?
Well, as I said earlier, it wasn't perfect.
The brain was the main target, it just attached and healed that as far as it could.
But rabies was still in the mixture.
It healed the brain as far as it could, and then gave it rabies.
To a dead man.
I don't know exactly, but I heard that the man stumbled up, went to the nearest house, and killed the entire family before eating part of them.
Anyway, it's most lethal when the host is dead. That's when it takes 3 shots to the head.
When the host is alive, the rabies is still in them. However, it only takes one shot to any major part of the body. At that point, they can die of blood loss, or any other natural death.

FantasyNo, once again, this is not an RP for you. Simply a book that I can share with my fellow RP'ers in our own little group RP. However, these are only ideas, they will, most likely, not even be used.
