After we arrived to where Drake currently resided, I noticed one thing immediately.
It was as deserted as the road I was on before.
I didn't see a single non-infected, nor infected, human in the vicinity.
"Why did you save me?" I piped up as he attempted to gently wrap my shoulder with a makeshift bandage.
He seemed to pause, his gaze briefly looking away from my shoulder to my face.
"Wouldn't you save someone who was about to die?"
"Touche."
I sighed, not satisfied with the answer, though I didn't want to pry.
For all he knew, I could've been a trap.
I've seen non-infected human traps before.
They work for what's left of the government.
Their job is to look as if they need help, to gain the attention of those who refused the government's protection.
Then, once spotted, they move the horde of infected humans towards the person so that the person who works for the government can escape.
I personally call them runners.
His gaze flickered back up to look at me, sighing loudly at my expression. He could tell what I was thinking.
"I don't know how recently your family died, but it's been years for me. Three years to be exact. All I had left was my girlfriend, a close friend, and my dog. They were one of the first ones to be killed."
I froze, my eyes wide in shock at the words.
"...I-I-" He cut me off with the shake of his head.
"I know what you're going to say. It's fine." Despite his words, his tone was much more sharp than earlier.
"...I really am sorry." I noticed a flicker in his eyes like before. That gold tint.
He seemed to notice it as well, his eyes immediately casting to the floor.
"...Yeah."
I could tell the conversation ended.
But with the end of the conversation came a thought, as if I just knew.
We were going to go through one hell of a ride together.

FantasyNo, once again, this is not an RP for you. Simply a book that I can share with my fellow RP'ers in our own little group RP. However, these are only ideas, they will, most likely, not even be used.
