Vanishing act.

You stumble and trip to be at center stage.

Legs shake, palms sweat and a dull pain hits you.

Staring out at a blank faced audience with upturned hands

Noise rips through your throat

It floats in the air and then sinks-

Falling upon deaf ears.

Once more.

You pound your fists and kick the microphone stand.

The people stay silent, unmoving.

Their empty heads saying more than anything ever could.
