The Finding of Scroll

Chapter 7

Scroll took a few deep breaths and then walked into the hospital. It was a nice place that looked mostly all open. The walls were made of tight vines in a checkerboard pattern. The roof was made of leaves that were almost transparent letting in all the sunlight. The hospital was almost empty because it was suntime and all the doctors were already asleep in their hammocks. The rooms with patients were small and there was only two occupied. Scroll could tell they were because there was a rolling curtain and only two of them were closed, the rest were bunched to the side showing a bed and supplies and a table. Scroll peaked his head into the closet room and saw a Seawing without a front foot. His entire leg was bandaged up and there was another Seawing sleeping on the floor next to her. The transparent roof of that room had something overtop of it making the room dark. Scroll backed up and fixed the curtain so no light was going in. Then he went to the back of the hospital where the second curtain was slide shut. He moved it aside to see that this room was much bigger and had a lot more supplies in it. It even had peaceful music playing which reminded Scroll of birds.

The Nightwing was laying on the table on his side one a Rainwings that Scroll has seen before was dipping a cloth in water and placing it on the big black wound which looked like it was now swelling and the black was spreading.

Scroll held his head trying to block the Rainwings thoughts. mostly all he heard was the steps which they need to do and what could go wrong/right. In the corner, Gator appeared her camouflage turning blueish white. "Do you know this dragon?" She asked

"Uhh, no I don't think so." Scroll took a few steps closer until he was in the room, then he used his tail to push the curtain shut. Gator nodded and closed her eyes as she disappeared back into the corner.

"Pain. ugh, lots of Pain.... I can't feel my leg. What's so cold...." Scroll jerked His head and looked at the Nightwing who was now facing one of his front talons. Scroll put a claw on the Rainwings shoulder who jerked back and almost spilled the water substance. "Am. Am I dreaming?' the nightwings mind went on. Scroll smiled and Gator' scales started to turn yellow as she opened her normal eye and watched. The nightwing's eyes twitched and he suddenly took a long inhale. Where... where am I? Scroll could not help himself. He could not just stand there and wait till the Nightwing woke up to answer his questions. "You're in the Rainwing hospital. I think you got stabbed by a sandwing."

The nightwing's eyes jolted open and he looked around. "How-" He coughed. "How did you find me?" Gator pointed at Scroll, her scales now a mix of many colors. "You said." He sighed. "A Sandwing?" Both little dragons nodded. "Where was I?"

Scroll sat down and looked down at his talons. "You were under a log, well a tree."

"Ah, yes. I remember now." The big dragon on the table shut his eyes. " Say, was there another Nightwing under me?" Scroll and Gator exchanged glares.

"Umm, can I leave you two to take care of him?" The doctor asked embarrassed. Gator held a thumbs up and the doctor left. Suntime! Finally... he thought as he closed the curtain and skittered away.
