Location: Headquarters/ Heliport 11

6 month after your incident

You leaned against the cold metal of the waiting helicopter and watched the staff loading it. With a last look over them, your eyes returned to the new katana on your waist belt. It had been forged especially for you and your needs to charge fast and smooth.

"Aren't you a bit nervous? Perhaps a little?", Zack asked as he joined you.

"No. I'm confident."

"But this is your first mission! And it's beyond the city as well. Wastelands!"

"Jeez, Zack! This is not the first time for me to fight on a battlefield!"

"But I thought you were a monster huntress before."

"Yes I was, but I had to fight and live in the Wastelands, because monsters are naturally found in the wild, ya know?", you said with a dry sarcasm in your voice.

"Nah, that's not what I meant!"

"Certainly", you giggled casually. "But seriously, I had to fight against people before. Don't worry about me. I'm used to monsters and humans."

Both of you straightened yourselves when your mentors arrived at the platform. With a salute, you greeted and joined them to get on the helicopter. Within the last month as Sephiroth's mentee, you had learned the hard way to follow his training and all sorts of orders. He had drilled you to be obedient and to not ask questions if it wasn't necessary. You had hated it, but you had made your peace, that it would be better to do as he said. However, no one could force your mind into submission.

Silence between the four of you arose as soon as the vehicle took off. Zack looked on his mobile phone, because he had met a girl he liked a few days ago. Angeal had closed his eyes and was seemingly sleeping. Your mentor, Sephiroth, was reading the mission folders again. With a sigh, your look wandered to his face and noticed the concentrated expression.

"Sir, is everything all right?", you asked with knitted eyebrows.

"Yeah, it's nothing...", Sephiroth muttered absent-mindedly.

"Hm, you sure?", but he wouldn't answer that question, obviously. Sometimes you asked yourself why he wouldn't let you see into his thoughts or opinions. But it was evident to you that it was because you were his disciple. Maybe, when you get the promotion to 1st-class, he would let you know such things?

"Hey, look over there!", Zack exclaimed after half an hour of flying.

"Woah, watch it!", the co-pilot shouted. Within seconds the helicopter was hit by something big. All of you had been rattled in the vehicle.

"Damn it! That's a Hippogriff classified in A!", you mentioned.

"How do ya know?", Zack asked, but then he remembered – monster huntress.

A new attack hit the helicopter and with a gruesome noise, the metal of the door gave in. Because of the height and the wind, all four of you were dragged along with the stormy wind outside of the helicopter.

Your eyes looked around, but you could not find anyone from your team. Soon enough, you would impact with the ground, which got closer and closer.

This couldn't be the end, could it?!, you asked yourself while your body was falling down. Neither fear nor panic were felt by you. Your eyes just focused on the earth, which got bigger and richer in detail. There were spots of brown grass between sharp rocks and dead trees everywhere. Now your heart began to beat faster and the blood boiled through your veins, within seconds, it felt as if your whole body would burn up.
