Chapter 5: Unfolding secrets

* Drake

Ano kayang ginagawa niya matapos niya akong sigawan at iwanan nang wala mang thank you! Matapos ko siyang ihatid sa apartment niya! Saan kaya nagsulpot ang nerdy na yon?!

Hinahanap ko yung nerdy na nang bigla naman akong napunta dito sa rooftop. Then.....

"But dad! I didn't wanted this life before! You know that! But, you left me! With them! So I've learned how to love them like they were my real parents.... But, what now?! Why are you doing things to oppose my happiness, again?! Dad!" rinig kong sigawan isang babae. At nang tingnan ko kung sino iyon nakita ko si...

Nerdy! Pero sino kaya kausap niya sa cell phone niya? Dad?

"Yeah! I know that! I know that I have responsibilities as the......." para siyang natigilan then......  "Rogaine's heir." mahina niyang sabi na parang naiiyak. Tama ba ang narinig ko?

She's the Rogaine's heir?! But I thought she a Droine.

"Why am I having troubles going back?! Hah! Kasi sa simula palang, you shouldn't left me here! Because if you didn't left me to Mr. And Mrs. Droine, I wouldn't be like this! Dad, you know it! It's your fault! All that happened had been your fault! And because of you! Kayla! Kayla!..... Kayla..... died." Sabi niya na parang iiyak na.

Kayla? Died? Anong ibig niyang sabihin?

"My only best friend back there, died! Because of you! Dad, you are the root of all my sufferings! And I know you know that. I know you'll never forget that!" Sumbat pa niya sa kausap niya.

Wala akong maintindihan. Then I stepped on some leaves that made her notice me. She turned to where I was.

Screw you leaves!

"Drake?! Kanina ka pa diyan?" then inoff niya ang cell phone niya.

"Hoy, may kausap ka pa diba? Ba-" I tried to say something but she interrupted me.

"May narinig ka ba sa usapan naman?" She asked as if her life is on the line if I did.

"Ummmm..." Wala naman akong maisip sabihin. At bigla nalang siyang nag salita na parang natatawang may halong galit.

"Narinig mo nga. Hahahahaha" sarkastikong tawa niya.

"Hey nerdy, anong nangyari sa iyo? Hi-hindi ako sanay sa ganiyang vibes mo." I said nervously.
"At sana tatay mo-" she interrupted me again.

Matatamaan na talaga toh sakin!

"Wala akong tatay na ganon!!" sigaw niya. Ngayon ko lang siya nakitang ganon kagalit. Scary.... "Umalis ka na. I want to be alone." she said, in a cold tone.

"Pero-" she interrupted me again.

Nakakarindi na tong babaeng toh ha!!

"Umalis ka na!" sigaw niya. Kaya umalis na ako. Baka ako pa ang pagbalingan niya ng galit. At saka baka matamaan pa sakin yan.

Pero, Tama kaya ang narinig ko? She's really the Rogaine's heir? Unbelievable. That nerdy is a rich family's heir?! Unbelievable!

* Mikael

Ano ba yan. Nasigawan ko pa si Drake, wala naman siyang ginawang mali. Sigurado ako galit na iyon sakin. Haay. Saka naman kasi tumawag ang magaling kong tatay. I am still not ready to face him. I can't. Not now.

(Lunch time)

"Beth!" rinig kong tawag sakin ni Hailey.

"Hailey.." sabi ko.

"Sabay na tayo. Hindi tayo masyadong nag kakausap simula nung naging boyfriend si Mr. Jersey." Sabi niya.

"Oo nga. Sorry ha, marami lang talagang nangyari." I apologized.

"Beth, may problema kaba?" She asked, looking worried.

"Ha? Ah, wala to, wag mo akong problemahin pa, Hailey." I lied. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko alam ang mararamdaman ko. Takot ba? Dahil narinig ni Drake ang usapan namin? O kaya naman ay galit?

Kasi nakausap ko na naman ang magaling kong ama? Haay, ay ewan.

"Okay. Kain na tayo. Nagugutom na ako." I just nodded.

Once we sat down...

"So? What's the news about you two?" Hailey asked but I stayed silent.  "Umm, Beth." Sabi pa niya.

"H-ha? Ah, ayos lang. Mabait naman siya..."  Parang gusto kong ipakain sa lupa ang mga sinasabi ko. Mabait?! Sino?! Si Drake?! No way! Nanay niya pa, Oo, Pero siya, Hindi pwede!  "And his mother is so kind." That's true.

"Buti naman. Nag-alala kaya ako. Buti naman at Mabait sila sa iyo." Sabi niya.

"Excuse me...." a voice said then grabbed my wrist. When I turn to see who is it...... It is....... LEI!! One of my bodyguard. But wait! What is he doing here?!

"Miss, you need to follow me." He said.

"Wait a minute! Why would she follow you?! S-" I stopped her and assured her it's alright. "Are you sure?" I nodded. And followed him. We went  to the lobby.

"Lei, why are you here?"

"Master wants you back."

"But Lei, you know I don't want to."

"But master w-"

"Please talk to me as my friend! Not as a bodyguard! Please."

"Ok, as you wish. Mikael, please, you need to forgive him. He didn't had a choice. He need to protect you. So, Mikael, please come back."

"But, Lei, because of him, I suffered. I hate him!"

"Mikael!" he shouted. He just....shouted at me, right?  "Stop being stubborn! Stop being childish already! If it wasn't for him, you're dead now! You can't blame it to him because it's your fault! How many times did we told you not to befriend for you and her sake?! But what did you do?! You befriend her still! And even you'll hate him forever, that wouldn't bring Kayla back to life!" I cried. Now, he's angry to me, right?  Because, I am really the root of all of this?! Then when he noticed my tears, his face softened.  "Mikael S-"

"You're right. She can't be brought back to life. Even if I'll hate my father forever, the fact she's dead and he's the reason why I am still alive wouldn't change."

"Mikael..... s-"

"You're right. It's my fault."

"No! That's no-"

"Stop covering it, Lei. The truth that it's my fault, not his. If I weren't born, if I didn't befriend her, that wouldn't happened."

"No! Don't blame your self. You have n-"

"No! It's my fault. All my fault. You're right. It's me I should blame. It's because I am so stubborn, childish, selfish, brat and thick headed."

"No! I didn't mean that! Mi-"

"Just leave me alone for now, Lei.."

"Mikael, bu-"

"Please, Lei."

"Okay. Just call me if you made your mind, alright?" I just nodded. And he left.

"So, Mikael is your name, huh?" I heard a voice said and I saw...

Drake!
