mackenzie's POV

i'm just sitting here. not being able to do anything. i haven't even seen johnny anywhere its just nadia dylan lexi annie and brynn here. they all have to leave soon since it's getting kinda late.

"i'm sorry kenzie but brynn and i have to leave, we still have to pick ruby up from dance" nadia grabs my hand and looks me in the eye. "will you be okay?" i smile "sure, i just really need johnny to be here" nadia picks up her phone. "i'll call harvey to see where they are"

"hey where are you?"

"no she's going in to see maddie soon and she kinda needs johnny with her"

"i don't care harvey! just get him over here"

"oh my god seriously"

"no just make sure to get him here and i'll tell mackenzie what she has to do just be quick"

she turns back to meet my eyes and speaks "kenzie.. it was joey who did this" my heart dropped. he was after me now, what have i done to deserve this. "and johnny is blaming himself. harvey found him in his room crying. but he is bringing him over right now"

my heart dropped again. this was in no way johnny's fault. the only thing i blame johnny for is not giving me a clear answer to what we are.

its clear that i like him. i guess he likes me too? or at least liked me. i want him to like me even though we would probably never be together

"another thing" my focus goes back to nadia as she puts her serious face on "do not, in any way. contact people who work with joey. do you promise?"

"i promise" it probably wouldn't even be that hard seeing as i don't even know most of his members. right?

"kenzie" i turn my head as i see johnny standing in front of me pulling me up from my chair and into a tight hug. "are you okay?"
i nod into his shirt and pull away. "where were you"

"i was at home" he replied with a weird look on his face. nadia was gone and she took brynn. so now only annie lexi and dylan were left. lauren wasn't talking to me for some weird reason.

"miss ziegler?" a nurse walked up to me and johnny and kindly smiled "your sister asked for you" i sigh in relief and drag johnny along to her room

when i open the door she smiles and waves "hi kenz" she croaks out "and johnny hi" i rush over to her while johnny grabs us both a chair.

"are you okay when can you come home? are you even going to come home?" i start rambling and overflowing maddie with questions i knew she couldn't even answer

"i'm okay. i can come home soon but they told me that that isn't jack's case. he might uh- not make it." a tear slipped and rolled down her scarred cheek.

"maddie please tell me what happened beginning to end" she frowned "i don't remember much, we were driving jack's car and we had music on. we were on our way to starbucks. he picked me up for it" johnny cut in "did you guys confirm that trough text or call" maddie cocked an eyebrow "he called me, why?" johnny cursed under his breath

maddie locked eyes with me looking for some kind of answer in them. i didn't have it. i broke our gaze by looking at johnny "johnny can i talk to you for a minute" he looked over at me "yeah, sure" i nodded at maddie and walked out of her room

i need to find out how joey did this because no way in hell was i going to let him get away with it.
