“Duh! You're our company's CFO slash Accountant, Auditor, whatever you wanna call yourself, not me, not Diane, not anybody but you.”
I look at her blankly, “So?”
“And you're the Chief Executive Officer's representative so?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Fine, fine! Now, could you please go back to work. And you Diane, please stop those hideous plans running inside your head. I'm so darn busy to play with you some mystery boxes. Tigilan mo 'ko.”
Tumayo ako at pinagbuksan sila ng pinto. They're pissing me by giving me two different faces. A playful and teasing smile from my twin and an intent stare from my cousin. Ugh!
“I will soon find out, Tin.”
Tin?
“Argh, shut up, Diane!”
I swiftly closed the door when they finally got out. Tsk! Lalo na 'yang si Diane? Isa pa 'yan eh, ang kulit-kulit. Kung hindi ko lang talaga 'yan pinsan? Naku….
“Sana naman ay wala nang istorbo.” I sigh when I was left alone in the room.
Teka, istorbo? Epal din 'to eh, ano? Kahit kailan talaga. Sayang. Okay, back to the financial statements. Tsk! Kumusta naman 'yon? As if she'll know either. She'll never find out, as if I will let her.
“It's eight on the clock and yet you're still here.”
“And so are you, Mr. Mortel.”
I did not look at him, I just continue working with my worksheet. As what I have said, I am so fucking busy. Other people don't know what the word busy means to an accountant like me. You see, I should be out by five after midday because I am one of the bosses, but no. I need to finish this first. I then hear him chuckle, a manly, eargasmic chuckle.
“Can't you just stop that for a while? I'm hungry,” he said.
I confusedly look at him, “Ano namang kinalaman ng pagtatrabaho ko sa pagkagutom mo?”
“I mean, why don't we have dinner? Don't worry, it's on me.” He smiles nicely.
Don't give me that smile, I might suck it off your face. Huh? What?
“No, thanks. I am busy and not hungry.”
I started writing when he suddenly snatches my pen.
“Vince! What the hell?”
At talagang nakipaghabulan pa ang loko. Argh! Bwisit na 'to!
“Rafael, give me back my freaking pen!” I glared at him.
“Let's eat.”
