Online Friends

I've been on wattpad for a few years and even though I don't have many online friends, with this app, I got to know some people and a few I even consider my friends.

I find it interesting how online friendships start and how they can grow without us even realizing it.

I have to confess this. From all my friendships online, I was never the one who started to text, I'm always too shy
for that so the most I do is comment on stories or comment in their comments (if that makes any sense 🤔),

but the moment I receive a text from them it's always so exciting because even though I have no idea what will happen, its always nice to talk to someone and get to know new people. I also believe that if you get that click, that connection with the person, it's quick until you two start to talk with each other for hours.

The great thing about having online friends is that you feel more comfortable showing your crazier and fangirl side that you usually don't show and that the person on the other side of the screen won't judge you and actually likes that side of you and might be just like you.

After you find someone who you like to talk to online and is becoming your friend, then you find yourself waiting for their reply and when you see a text from them it's really exciting and makes you really happy (at least that's what happened to me).

With being more comfortable with your online friend(s), you end up trusting them with sharing your feelings and your problems which can be hard to do in real life and in the moment you start to trust this person with stuff like that, it's the moment that you notice how much your friendship has grown and how your online friend became a close friend who you know you can count on.

And once you have this trust and have this strong bond, you find yourself trying to be awake as much as you can so you can talk a little while longer with your friend(s).

When you get to the point of truly trusting your online friend with your problems, your thoughts/opinions and your feelings, you start to create an even bigger bond than before and it makes you closer to them, even if you are on opposites ways of the world.

The beauty of online friendships is that you truly learn/realize that a true friendship can go through a lot and just get stronger. I mean, you might know that with your IRL friends but I think that for some reason we know that even better and because of that we cherish even more the friendship we have with these people we met online.

I find it fascinating how two people with a random thing in common like the love for writing or for a tv show or movie can make them be friends, no matter how far they are from each other, and how they can create a strong bond against all odds.
