Your eyes snap open. You're sure you didn't imagine it this time. Something really did just brush past your foot. Normally, you wouldn't have been so worried if it wasn't late at night but it is and it's dark and you were just drifting off to sleep before you felt it. You're frozen in fear, too scared to move but frightened at being in the same room with whatever that was. You reach for your phone and turn it on, shining the light around the room.

Just when you think that your imagination is playing tricks on you, you shine your light on a big black spider on the floor near your makeshift bed. You scream, more of an internal scream but the effects are still the same. Faster than the speed of sound you scramble out of the bed and out of the room, sacrificing your phone and leaving it on the bed.

You aren't sure where you're going but you run up the stairs, taking two steps at a time. Freezing and shaking you dash into the nearest room and slam the door behind you. You slide to the floor and take deep but hurried breaths to try and slow your heart rate.

You freeze when a light on the other side of the room turns on and Tae sits up in his bed.

"Y/N?" His voice is almost as surprised as you.

"Oh god, sorry... I didn't mean to... I just." You can't find the right words to explain your current situation but it seems that you don't need to as Tae is already out of his bed and crouching down before you. He places a hand on top of your head and quickly scans you.

"Are you okay?" He asks worriedly and his closeness doesn't help with your breathing whatsoever.

"I'm fine, I just saw a... spider." You fade off, a little ashamed of being scared by such a small creature.

He chuckles and helps you to stand up.

"So you ran?"

You scoff. "There's no way I'll sleep in the same room as that."

"So you came to my room?" 

You feel your blush deepen and he smirks.

"Well, you're welcome to sleep in my bed, I'll take the floor." He suggests and starts walking but you tug on his sleeve.

"Hey, I told you that I wouldn't kick you out of your room anymore."

"Are you suggesting we both take the bed?" He asks and you squeal and turn the shade of a tomato.

"No, no, no. I'll take the floor." You say and march over to a suitable spot and lie down.

You hear Tae get in his bed and turn the light off. The two of you quickly settle into comfortable silence and soon you can hear Tae's soft snores. The floor isn't actually too hard and you smile at being in the room that relaxes you so much.

You're just slipping off to sleep again when a loud thunder cracks outside. Immediately, you tense and practically fly onto Tae's bed, burying yourself under the covers. 

"Y/N!" You hear Tae exclaim but you shrink into your own ball when another clap of thunder echoes. 

You wince as it sounds so much like a gunshot, a sound which you heard more than any young child should have. Your body shakes and stiffens as the fear creeps along your spine and spreads through your veins. Then, a warm hand places itself on your back and rubs it gently, moving in soothing circles. You instantly relax and let the covers be taken off your head. You see Tae's reassuring smile as he wipes tears off your cheeks that you didn't even know you had.

"Sorry..." you whisper but he quietens you.

"It's okay to be scared. Don't apologise." He says softly and you lean into him and let his arms wrap around you.
